Reviews really don't do this game justice.

User Rating: 8.6 | Capcom Classics Collection Remixed PSP
The only real reason to own a portable system is to pass time, and this game does that better than any other game I've played. There's something here for everybody: action games, brawlers, scrolling shooters, a quiz game, and a puzzle game. The shortest of these take at least half an hour to finish, but most likely you won't get that far very often because of the amount of choices you have. I've literally spent hours just going through small sections of each game just because I can, it's very hard to put down. The best part of this collection is how every game is extremely easy to pick up and enjoy because of the infinite continues and difficulty options. The worst part is that eventually you'll realize that arcade games are generally pretty shallow, and you might have a hard time beating these games 10, 20, or 3000 times and still have fun. I don't have that problem. I can play Magic Sword and Final Fight every day for the rest of my life and be perfectly happy. Other people my age might feel the same way, but I get the feeling that most people that own PSPs are not my age.

One thing that frustrated me when I was looking for reviews on this game was the lack of information on the games I wasn't familiar with so I'll try to give a very small description of each.

1941- I couldn't stand 1942 and 1943, I thought the graphics were crap and the weapons sucked. 1941 looks leagues better than those two and has a charge shot and cool power ups.

Avengers- Kind of like a vertically scrolling Kung Fu. It's horrible and really difficult even with infinite continues.

Bionic Commando-Not really like the NES game. You spend your time killing enemies and getting to higher ground with your bionic arm. No jump button

Black Tiger- Didn't like this game. You run through dungeons saving petrified prisoners with your whip and daggers. Too many annoying enemies for me to spend too much time with it.

Block Block- Like Arkanoid but way better. It has great levels and power ups.

Captain Commando- Like Final Fight, but with dashing attacks and a futuristic feel. All of the playable characters play really different from each other.

Final Fight- One of the best brawlers ever made.

Forgotten Worlds- Controls worse than the PS2 version because of the lack of a second analog stick. Side scrolling shooter with great weapons and bosses.

Last Duel -I guess this is a vertical shooter. It sucks. Probably the worst game in the collection.

Legendary Wings- Vertical scrolling shooter with an ancient greece theme. There are also some side scrolling action segments, but I didn't like any of it.

Magic Sword- Probably the best "scrolling fighter" ever made.

Mega Twins- A colorful action platformer with lots and lots of enemies.

Quiz & Dragons- Travel across board game type levels and answer trivia questions from 1992. I'm not into trivia games, but I play this all the time. I guess if you dress it up right, I'll play anything. Think Trivial Pursuit mixed with Dungeons and Dragons.

Section Z- This game shows it's age horribly. Simplistic graphics with a very high difficulty level.

Side Arms- Kind of like a crappy version of Forgotten Worlds.

Speed Rumbler- Sucks.

Street Fighter- Probably not what you're expecting. The control isn't very good, and the timing for the fireballs and dragon punch is crazy. This turns into a button masher very quickly, but if you manage to pull off a special move, you'll probably win your match.

Strider- Plays like an action movie. Strider looks great, controls well, and has cool bosses. It's probably too hard for me, but I'm sticking with it cause I enjoy the levels.

Three Wonders-Three very different and well made games. One plays kind of like a fairy woodsy version of Metal Slug. One is a side scrolling shooter. One is a cutesy puzzle game that involves pushing blocks into enemies to kill them.

Varth- Reminds me of Tiger Heli. Plays like 1941, but with more variations in enemies and weapons. It looks and probably plays better than 1941, but I think I like 1941 more. Probably because you can't continue exactly where you die.

I know that these small reviews are kind of hit and miss but there are at least ten games you'll keep coming back to, and you'll probably even play the ones you don't like for the unlockables (tips, pics, and music). All of the games look fantastic and I hope that future classic game compilations will have the option of playing them in the original aspect ratio. Hopefully this will get the ball rolling on getting old arcade games on the PSP because these games look and play perfectly.

Let's see Cadillacs & Dinosaurs, Knights of the Round, Saturday Night Slam Masters, UN Squadron, Star Gladiator, Cannon Spike and Marvel vs Capcom 2 for Capcom Classics Collection vol 2. Let's also see some classic arcade compilations from Sega, Konami, and Technos. With developers going crazy for remakes....now is the time.
