Video says July 3rd, but they're already selling it at the GameStop here where I live. I dunno if I'll buy before renting though. I never played the original, and don't know exactly what to expect..

I didnt buy the 1st COJ for ages after it came out, then i thought id like a bit of western in my system and got it cheap & it was brilliant- in my opinion it was underrated & underhyped. Top-notch compelling story with classic 'Western' feeling guns made the game feel authentic & yet again ive made the foolish mistake of not keeping a close eye on this 1, now ive realised it coming out Friday & i dont have to wait ages for it! :D cant wait

@ Irsp Yeah it has like 6 multiplayer modes. Classic and original ones that look noice!

This game looks purdy! Hopefully enemies in showdowns get faster than that sherriff who took about a year to draw. The player had time to miss and shoot again before the sherriff even got his hand on his gun. Ha ha.

only a few days now till i put on my wild west boots and jump striaght into the action :D

COJ looks like one cool game. Although a FPS it has an interesting take on the game play. Have put on my list.

Midnightshade29, there IS a civil war game that is available for the xbox 360 and ps2 theres actually 2 in the seriers its called History Channel: Civil War - A Nation Divided and History Channel Civil War: Secret Missions

first one was very frustrating and limiting, hope this gives a more non-linear approach to gameplay. That's what we really need, an open-world GTA western. Gun is the closest thing to one thus far. I hope Red Dead comes through with open world too.

It's interesting to hear that there is Civil War gameplay, there has never been a Civil war or REvolutionary war period FPS...I understand muskets and pistols were mostly black powder and took longer to load, but so what, it could make the game more intresting. Having to find cover and load your weapons before getting shot. using your knife or other makeshaft weapons and cannons ect. I was really hoping COD would of branched out to the past wars, but I guess not, they'd rather milk a franchise in the boring modern day once again, thanks to craptivision.

Day 1, but I hope its not just cod shooting the whole time..but it looks like it from this video. Then again , it could be just gamespot showing off only the shooting becasue that's what twitch gamers like. For me though, i prefer a mixed game approch. Mix in shooting, stealth, puzzle, some platforming, inventory rpg element, with talking charcters who you can interact with and a fleshed out story. Not just cod run and gun. The first COJ had all that , so hopefully this does too! I can already tell there is a story there, it pisses me off when devs cater to the Halo fanboys, and don't put any narartive in games...for example Red Faction Guerillal; Red faction 1 and 2 were story driven games with characters and a life filled world, RF gureilla had no story it was basically a twitch gamers destruction fest for no reason...horrible if you ask me. There needs to be a compelling plot in games!

played the first game which was pretty cool but this one looks like they have fine tuned some of the minor problems..cant wait for next friday this game is gonna rock.i realy enjoy the western setting makes a nice change.great show guys.peace..
