Not the best Western Shooter I've played but it has it's moments.

User Rating: 7.5 | Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood PS3
Most First-Shooters you see these days are around Sci-fi, History such as World War II or Horror shooters. But you don't see many Western Shooters but Call of Juarez offers a decent story based around two brothers during the American Civil War. Ray and Thomas are brothers along with there yonger brother William. The enemy retreats to there mothers home, the brothers try and get rid of the enemies but find out there mother was killed. Ray promises to rebuild the house, promising that they will be a family again. Knowing their superior Colonel Barnsby will not let them off, they flee the town, bringing William with them.

Gameplay: Like most first-person shooters Call of Juarez is a western theme where you'll be carrying guns which were probably first made around that area before the Amercian Civil War. You can use pistol guns, shot guns and TNT as grenades. You can can also use duel weapons where you can use two pistol guns making you feel like a propper cowboy.
If your a fan of Western films and other games you'll probably enjoy Call of Juarez. Before you start each chapter you can choose who you want to play as either Thomas or Ray.

At certain parts of the story you'll be in a Western showdown with the enemies you'll be facing just like in the old Cowboy movies you used to watch when you were a kid. During the showdown you'll have to keep a close eye to your gun once you hear the bell, quickly shoot down your opponment. Not only you'll be fighting Bandits, you'll also be shooting your way through other enemies including Cowboys, Civil soliders and Indians.

Graphics and Sound: Graphics make a nice feature to a Western game filled with open wastelands of certain parts of North America and Mexico. There is a bit of free-roming before going through the next chapter you can do some side quests if you want or ride through the deserts on your horse. The enviroments are certainly something to look at but there is a few visuals that can pop up at certain times. Loading times can randomly appear out of now where making a little annyoing specially if there's enemies and bandits trying to shoot you down.

Voicing is well done making it feel like an old western film. The soundtrack has alot of Rock-Mexican in speically when your in Mexico fighting bandits which sort of feels cool for an old western first-person shooter.

Overall: Beating the main story can take you under 20 hours or less. There is Trophie support if your a Trophie collector some will be easy to get and some which will tricky to get. There is multiplayer if you want to play online with your friends most of the multiplayer modes are the same as other shooting games. You can also download more multiplayer maps of the Playstation Network, but if your fan of Western Movies it's worth checking it out but it is a really short game which is only worth renting.
