Call of Duty is a great game, one of the best first person shooters of its time. Practically you are a soldier in WWII. We will start off with the good:

It makes you fell like your in the army. It's realism in the guns, NPCs, and maps all make you fell like you were actually there. In the single player campaign, people talk to you and tell you what to do all in real time.

The single player missions are all varied and tense, they make you think of a lot of different tactics to complete them. This is mainly because the difficulty is perfect.

The graphics and physics (especially physics) in CoD are surprisingly good for its time. Peoples mouths move when they talk, people lean out to the side from obstacles to see whats going on and people help each other. The graphics are slightly depressing but it adds to the feel of WWII.

The multiplayer is great, all the different modes are: deathmatch, team deathmatch, behind enemy lines (attack and defend), retrieval (Must get documents from enemy, or defend them) and search and destroy (one team attacks, and one teams defends, the objective until it explodes). These are all very good modes that are very addictive.

Another good thing about the multiplayer is the killcam. If you die, you will be shown a video of the other persons view, which will tell you where he was and how he killed you. This is helpful.

The bad...

Maybe a little repetitive after a very long period of time.

Sometimes NPCs in the single player campaign stay in doorways so you can't get through. This is very annoying when you are trying to take cover in a building and there's a guy standing in your way... if you then die, it's even more annoying.

Those minor problems are the only problems I can think of about this game. Which means this game is great.
