as for me i like the scar with a thermal scope with sleight of hand, hardline, and the one perk that makes firing from the hip easier (saves precious moments by aiming) with 2 custom classes taking up that spot one for support one for assault. and also the frag and flash grenade for lethal and tactical. i also like the type 95

multiplayers full of campers

I have got a bit fed up with this game and the series now i have owned all of them, to me this is by far the worst call of duty that has been released. I have decided to give BF3 a go and loving it at the moment sorry CoD try something new next time its boring.

If your going to make a war game, and you shoot at a tree, make the tree come down! MW3 is not realistic enough th ats my opinion! This game should be an 8.0.

@reyace Treyarch are pretty talented, WaW was a great game and it was hands down the most unique Call of Duty despite taking place in World War 2. Activision is to blame, Activision are the ones who encourage their developers to make the same old games over and over. And Infinity Ward is in fact their biggest developer. They also loved the idea of WoW, and now are apart of that great milking scheme(created by Blizzard, one of the supposedly "best" devs in gaming). Treyarch has nothing to do with it.

COD? Please, i like this game don't get me wrong, but enough is enough seriously Treyarch, your lucky i am still playing Modern Warfare 2

I've only played a couple hours of the MP so far- yes, it's very familiar to earlier installments, but still accessible and addictive to play. Liking some of the new perks including Stalkerand Quickdraw. And about the M4- yes, it is a very decent weapon overall, but it quickly gets overshadowed when you unlock new weapons as you level up, like the SCAR-L and the CM091 or whatever it's called.

@Dragon240sx good to finally see a comment about the games' individual strengths and doesn't try to compare them based on personal bias/preference.

If you like a more run and gun arcade shooter you get COD. If you like a more realistic strategic shooter you get BF.There both good at what they do thats why they have been around so long. End of story.

It bothers me that most people playing COD now were most likely born when the series started.

Beginner Tips. 1. Have you played Call of Duty Modern Warfare? 2. If so, then its pretty much the same exact thing with the only update being new maps.

i thought the only thing you need to do is run around with akimbo machine pistols. that's what every di%&head is doing (me included when i see opponents use it). in close to mid range, NOTHING beats it. personally i think IW should get rid of akimbo. ANY akimbo

@osxgp I know where your coming from but it's just a game. I'm in the Army Reseve and my comrades and I wish that a there was a shooter that is like real life but the thing is in real life the only rifle a average soldier sees is a M-16, M-4, and AK-47. Even Special Forces and SEALS rarely get the high tech guns that are featured in MW3 and BF3. Air Force gets all the new tech then passes it on to NAVY then ARMY then JARHEADS then the POPO then CIVILIANS.

The problem I always have with COD games is the weapon rating system. I don't understand how a gun that shoots the same type of ammo can have different damage ratings. For example: the H&K G36, SCAR L, and M4A1 all use 5.56x45mm NATO ammo, yet have 3 different damage levels. I thought they were trying to be an accurate military shooter. Here is the best one... a .44 magnum is equal in power to a FN Five-Seven pistol??? I enjoy COD games for the single player aspect but the online part is so unbalanced and the cheating makes it almost unplayable. I got killed 3 times in a row by a guy running around under the map. Dont know why they have an option to report someone cheating considering that nothing will be done about it.

How could you possibly need beginner tips on a game that's been the exact same for 5 years running. Not to mention everything that was said is literally summed up in descriptions of the weapons/perks or just in common sense in general. Gamespot's getting as bad as IGN by making all these useless videos and then uploading them to YouTube for money. Sigh.

This video can be summed up as: "Want to shoot? Try out [insert random starting gun]. It can shoot. It can reload." I doubt even new players could extrapolate anything useful from it. C'mon, Gamespot, how about some actual useful tips such as "Always use a silencer?"

This GAME is not good for beginners. The lack of any kind of match making system will have you going up against people WAY out of your skill level. If you have not put hundreds of hours into a Call of Duty game already prepare to be target practice.

The M16 is not a good weapon for a beginner

MW3 is a fun game but it feels dated after playing battlefield 3. MW3 textures look like cardboard compared to the frostbite 2, they need a new engine plain because the game is getting boring.

Beginner tips on a game that hasn't changed since 2007? @drock247 its just you, bf3 runs perfectly fine for me and you probably don't know how to play the game in the first place, I don't ever have a problem getting into the action in battlefield 3 of course if you're sitting around waiting for a vehicle the whole match then you cant use the complaint about the lack of action since you are CHOOSING to wait for a vehicle, its not the games fault you aren't killing something its your own.
