Just feels like any other COD game.

User Rating: 8 | Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 PS3
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 is a first person shooter and serves as a sequel to Modern Warfare 2. If you're a fan of the Call of Duty series you'll probably get a sense of déjà vu as it appears to recycle allot of core aspects from previous entries. The story picks up where Modern Warfare 2 left off with Soap in a bad situation and all hell breaking loose with conflict breaking out in a number of hot spots ranging from various countries but primarily in the European block of things. Makarov is back on the grid and stirring up on heck of a storm. From there and like all Call of Duty games you'll take on the roles of various characters throughout the single player campaign.

On the graphics side of things Modern Warfare 3 is ok but at the same time feels largely recycled. If you've played previous entries in the series this familiarity might be rather obvious with very few if any improvements to the graphics in general. However if your new to the series the overall graphics quality is ok and is pretty solid all around.

Gameplay wise Modern Warfare 3 plays like pretty much all previous entries before it. The controls are identical to previous entries in every sense of the word. Furthermore the core run and gun gameplay is also the same. However on the plus side the special ops missions feature a survival mode and the new missions feel like they connect in some way to the main story or at least give you some other take on the story mission like the after math of some story missions. While not all give you that core sense that fact that it was at least attempted is something worthy of prise and to some extent complements the single player story rather nicely.

With regards to multiplayer Modern Warfare 3 is pretty darn good all around. The multiplayer features you standard verity of online modes but at the same time adds a few new ones into the mix. The multiplayer aspect has also been refined for the spec ops side of things and no longer requires you to have a friend with the game in order to do some missions. This new system uses its own leveling up system and pairs you up with other people that have the game and enables you to play missions with other people. However the biggest plus is that the multiplayer does not use an online pass in any way shape or form. This means you can either rent or buy the game used and still be able to play online which is a very nice touch in that it doesn't follow the trend so to speak with online passes and such.

Overall Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 is a solid entry into the series despite coming of as another iteration of the same game.
