The Dragunov didn't need the intended "nerf" that came with the silenced sniper rifles patch. No OSOK to the head and neck w/ silencer = complete garbage now. Hell, scratch that, this gun was SUPPOSED to OSOK to the chest in the first place like COD4 and BO, and in game data more than likely proves it with a 1.1x chest multplier(70 damage with 1.5 head and neck multipliers).

It's just saddening that IW/Treyarch never addressed this(and other clearly outclassed weapons in this game), yet addressed patching guns like shotguns, ACR, mps, type95, but not patched this gun?

edit: It's great that some of the powerful guns got patched nerfed, and I'm greatful overall for the patch, but it saddens me that really bad outclassed weapons haven't been addressed.

I can't even post his on the stupid callofduty.com board, because I need to have a 360/PS3 AND link them to my old account to post.. And I've already tried to talk to Robot Bowling about patching guns like the Dragunov, but never got any responses. Just so damn frustrated.. >____>

You don't need those accounts linked to post. It wanted me to do that when I used my BLOPS account, but if you create a new account on the official forum you can post. It worked for me anyway.

...use the Barret or MSR and move on. That or go play hard core or private half life matches.

Complain too much about what? I haven't complained about anything in this game, for a loooong time. The only thing I have ever complained as of recently, is about this gun, and I've been complaining about this gun for a long time.

And a lot of people care about the Dragunov. I'm one of the few that are speaking out for all Drag users.

YOu should never have a OSOK weapon that does not give away somehow on the map. Sorry, but the fact that you could get kills with the supporessor in a single hit is infact what was unbalanced about it...

I owuld agree with you that head shot should be instant kills, but only if that were true from all weapons...you tag their cantelope, they go down period. Getting hit markers on headshots from other weapons is riduclous when sniper, especially when suppressed didn't...

If I walk up right behin my target witha 5-7 I sure as **** should be able to turn his head into a canoe and get a kill in one shot, not 2 to 3 as lag often requires...

^^^You've got to be kidding me...

The Dragunov version of Black ops, was absolutely fine. Same strength as it was in COD4, but like all the other sniper rifles w/ silencers, it OSOK'd in the head and neck. And guess what.. it actually fulfilled that niche role of being the best silenced sniper rifle in BO, and it was FAR from being over powered, because the hit area was so small, and you needed to extremely precise and have the target not moving--to consistentally get one hit head and neck shots.

I mained Drag w/ silencer in BO, and I can say that it doesn't fulfill the complete sniper rifle positions, because of the small hit area. I couldn't use it against pros and be good at it, due to the small kill area and recoil.

And even in THIS game, prepatch, I started using Dragunov w/ silencer since the past weekend, and I've had fun. It's a novelty, and isn't meant for serious sniping, unless you're seriously skilled.

If you want to complain about "OP", which I did when the game first came out... Then complain to Treyarch/IW about OSOKing hit areas to the chest w/ a silencer, because all the sniper rifles minus RSASS and Drag have that post patch (as the Hd versions di all along).

If I put a pistol into the ear of a stand still sniper it should not take me two to three shots while I am in maximum damage range to kill him.

No, it should not.

Therefore if while outside the maximum damage range, which honestly I am not even sure if the sniper rifles damage drops or not, it probably doesn't but I will wait for you to post an essay about that, there is no way a weapon that is suppressed should give the same benefit as the one that is not. It is ridiculously unbalanced if it were, and their would be no reason to not use the suppressor all the time...

If all headshots where OSOKs from all guns in their max damage range I would agree with you. Since they are not, nothing that is suppressed should give you that type of kill.

No one complained about it in BO. NO ONE. Why? Because it was never OP'D, hell far from overpowered as I explained. And hardly if anyone even used silencers on sniper rifles. In Mw3, more people ARE using it, but they're using it on the Barret 50 cal/AS50 and the 2 bolt actions, because of that large OSOK area to the chest with a silencer! THAT is debatable for nerfing, but we're talking about the head and neck here...

Please.. If you actually used silencer attachment in BO, and seen just how hard it is to get consistent kills vs w/a silencer to the head and neck vs w/out a silencer, you should keep your mouth shut. No, no one complained baout it because they were off abusing FAMAUG, Stoner and RF 74 U. There were so few snipers in that game that it simply did not matter. The "snipers that were a problem where the aim assits CCP users with the bolt action ACOG.

You didn't need to separate yourself with the "me", you could have stopped at terrible and we all would have know you were included witht he complainers.

And it should have been the way it was. Giving it OSOK with suppressor is OP if you are shooting across the map.

No I used it, noticed it was hard, and understoob why it did not belong. So when I sniped I didn't use the Dragon, I used the PSG1 because IT WAS A BETTER CHOICE due to the game parameters.

Honestly, you complaing about balancing, but you really want the weapon you like to use to be the best one. That is not a question of balance, but a hang up of yours. They create a weapon tier by changing the effectiveness of progressing weapon, thus giving you a choice, and not making everything the same.

I am fully aware of it, and was no slouch at sniping. Instead I made the logical conclusion in that sniping was not effective in BLOPS because a MK14 or Stoner would render the sniper effectively unable to acquire you as a target due to view kicking.

That is the intelligent realization, not your emotional response to the weapon you are married too...you are like the college roomate who went out ot the bar and brought home a fat chick, and in the morning your are trying to convince me not only was she not that big, but she was a better choice than any of the other chicks at the bar.

That doesn't pass they "eye" test however, and I can call you on your fluff while saying, yeah it is okay if you want to play the game how you want ot play, but don't try to reset the standards of what "hot" is for everyone just so it would fit in with your results...
