If camping is SOOOOO anit-COD, then why did the game offer so much equipment to encourage it? ie. sniper rifles, portable radar, scrambler, claymore ...
And furthermore, if camping bothers you SOOOOOO much, maybe its because you spend too much time running around like an idiot instead of checking corners and behind filing cabinets.
If you can't counter a camper, then you suck, obviously his technique of waiting on morons to go running by without clearing the room is better than your technique of either running stalker till someone crosses your line of fire or glitching the quick scope
Hate and flame may proceed.
- Feb 22, 2012 10:06 am GMTits truthfully the people that suck at FPS's that complain about camping.
heck the only time I ever complain is when playing Battlefield, and that's because it makes a slow-paced shooter come to a crawl in terms of progression.

dude, talk about fast paced, I threw in Resistance the other day and couldnt tell WHAT the heck was going on lol ... I agree
I camp, and I run, and I snipe ... I play the game.
If I'm run/gunning and getting slaughtered do to lag, I camp. If I camp and I dont see anyone for a few, I take off.
Just play the **** game, ya know
- Feb 22, 2012 10:21 am GMTI don't care about free kills. I do wonder what you get out of it... Sitting in a corner waiting for people to come... you paid 60 bucks for this game to just watch barrels? Its like paying for a movie and seeing a black screen 50% of the time.
- Feb 22, 2012 10:30 am GMTThat doesn't sound like a good comparison. Movies are way more expensive than games in terms of entertainment. You see a good movie then you're entertained for maybe 2 hours if it even lasts that long. Buy a good game and you could be entertained for 100+ hours.

psn: EternalGST - Feb 22, 2012 10:48 am GMTIf I don't run like around like an "idiot" as TC describes, but instead walk slowly checking every corner, I'll just get shot in my back due to the time spend in one area, because of some random enemy that already ran a full circle around the map or spawns close by... in my back.
Having said that, I don't hate the "occasional" guy keeping watch on a doorway from behind a box or whatever, but I do hate the guys doing nothing BUT sitting in a corner for the entire game length to boost their K/D or whatever.============================================

It isn't logical nor realistic nor even possible to "clear a room" every room. No one has enough equipment to grenade and clear out a room before entering, and as we all know, you can "check behind cabinets" all you want but the moment you enter a room to check you are dead due to the camper.
You can counter a camper when you know he's there.
As for the rest..
portable radar, claymore, scrambler etc are all there for area holding, not camping. They allow you to run around one end of an area and know when someone is entering the other end. There's plenty of youtube videos displaying how people actively run around and play while using these behind them. For example..on top of the steel staircase in Underground near the big lot. Run around up top, keep radar down by the two entry ways near the crates.
They're annoying when they do kill you because there's zero skill involved and as I said it IS unrealistic to expect people to check every corner of every location. Camping doesn't just include ducking behind a box it also includes lying prone next to a truck, a crate, or just on the ground anywhere. Camping is the counter to people running around, but running around doesn't always mean unskillfully.
Overall though..go for it? Campers don't really do much to me, but I might just encounter ones who really don't know how to play and just end up missing when they shoot once I enter a room, and once they miss they have zero shot of killing me.
I will say though that snipers never bother me. They're by far the easiest to avoid. - Feb 22, 2012 11:51 am GMTi shouldn't have to check every single corner in the game. That is unrealistic expectations. If you play by sitting in the corner good for you thats how to choose to play, but don't act like you are good at this game. Don't act like you know how to play an FPS. Anyone can sit in a corner ADSing a choke point. The reason people play like that is because it is simple to mimic and takes minimal know how.
Being able to rush around takes a good internet connection, good aim, map knowledge, knowledge of spawns, being able to make quick decisions when facing multiple enemies. The people that are consistantly able to rush around successfully are the ones who are able to say "i'm know how to play this game and I'm pretty damn good at it."
You say the people that play this style are "running around like idiots." I don't view it that way. I think there are people who yearn to be able to run around and replicate a playstyle that they constantly see on youtube. Guys that are running around putting up huge killstreaks getting triple and quad feeds. I have far more respect for people who move around the map(even though they could be a hinderance to my team) then a person who sits in a corner ADSing and waiting for someone to walk by.

- Feb 22, 2012 12:53 pm GMTBeat way to counter this is by having a class with recon assasin and sitrep. Most of the time they camp by their equipment just throw a flashbang i tend to use emp granade btw

Zero skill is running around the map like an idiot and getting lucky kills from behind. Try harder. It's way more difficult to go through an entire game of TDM going 32-2 than it is to go 20-20.
I never kill someone from the same location twice, it's always, get kill, move just enough to not be seen if they come back...rinse & repeat. - Feb 22, 2012 1:27 pm GMTdthomas125 posted...

There's absolutely no skill involved in camping. None. None whatsoever at all. The very fact that you refer to running around only as lucky kills shows the very lack of any skill at the game people who do run around say campers lack. Running around requires knowing the maps enough to know spawns relative to where your teammates are, fast reflexes, and smart play styles while running. If all it involved was getting lucky then by all means try it and wonder why you go 4-30 and others running around can go 30-1. Camping involves ADS and hoping the guy you kill has a thirst for vengeance. As for moving to another spot.. lol. Yes, you're right. meeting someone face to face and winning the shoot-off IS just as skillful as moving from the box in the right corner of the room to the box just outside the room. - Feb 22, 2012 1:33 pm GMTCamping has been in every single multiplayer FPS ever. If you can't handle campers, don't bother with multiplayer.

~Official White Knight of the PS3 Modern Warfare 3 board~ - Feb 22, 2012 1:44 pm GMTRunning and gunning is more FUN so that's what I do. Sure my K/D sucks (I'm lucky to stay around 0.8-1.2 give or take) but I sit in one spot enough at work all day and I get more enjoyment out of trying to actually take objectives and things. Some of the funnest CoD rounds I've ever played were when everyone had this mentality, and you have a game of demolition or sabotage (or War on WaW) where most people have tons of kills AND deaths.
I'll also come right out and say that I have too much self-respect to camp. I know if I camp, even if I get more kills, I will from then on be known as "that f****** camper who only gets kills by camping" and I refuse to be that person. - Feb 22, 2012 1:58 pm GMT
alot of good points, especially on my comment about "camping gear" so yeah, I def see that.
kill and move is a great tactic, in the back of underground where the delivery truck is, I have personally killed the same guy 6 times because he comes back for the revenge kill and I've moved again, just to a place where I can see where I "used" to be ... he only killed me after 6 because I was laughing so hard I was late shooting him lol
sorry for the complaint post, I just get sick of all the camper comments... def not a good idea to spend $60 to stare at the paper flying around in the air, but on the same note the camper is gonna be the guy that ends your kill streak and probably make you rage quit (some people) ... of course others will just come slaughter you, but if the person doesnt care to get better and continues to return to the same place and get killed, then hopefully thats fun to them

lol like totally bro...HAHAHAHA.....please, stop attempting to impress us with this lie/ brag post. its more fun to get my high killstreaks, triple kill feeds, and intense moments. how is camping and going 6-1 or something of that nature. funner than 20-3....he may end my KS, but without any skill or real tactic. just aiming down the sight, knowing you did NO HELP for your team
