1 Like The Call of Duty games would be much better off if they had LONGER single-player campaigns.
I mean, with 4-5 hour campaigns, why do they even bother putting it in at all?
If they don't care, just make the CoD games multiplayer-only games, since that seems to be what everyone cares about these days.
I really want to play the CoD games, but I'm not into multiplayer at all, so it doesn't feel worth it to waste my money on the games with 4-5 hour campaigns.
Too bad.

Only a 9.0 ?! The multiplayer alone should warrant a 9.0...... COD have never been story-heavy games - it's a FPS and doesn't need to be! As long as i know what my current objective is for that level, who cares THAT much about the story - when the levels are so well designed and fun to play? For it to be perfect then ideally the story behind the game should be more polished and easy to follow, by at most this minor glitch out of the overall package should have brought the score down by .2 at the most! Think Halo3 (from memory) scored about the same or higher - how can this be?! When Halo3 was absolute dump.
That was wrong to make you the terrorist. In this day and age its not acceptable. Sure you can skip the entire scene but that makes a short game evn shorter.
awesome graphics but story disappoints. after so much hype about this game i really feel very sad that story is not up to the mark. anyway good review
i agree on the 9.0.. only because the pc version has soo many complaints.. otherwise the campaign looks about just what I wanted.. if i cared so much for story I would just go play MGS or FF.. and its nice they still got the formula after lackluster CoD5
Every developer should learn from Uncharted 2's 12 hours (on normal difficulty) of utter bliss campaign. Five hours just doesn't cut it after playing that. Still, Special Ops and Multiplayer look great.

I should pick this up soon, too bad I'll be busy and wont be able to play at least in two weeks.
who cares about the story if the missions are fun and intense the battle is gore and awesome story should not be very imp. plus multiplayer is insane and even the new spec ops mode looks like awesome fun

Yes the sp is shorter than i expected but, i know by the ending theres going to be mw3 no doubt,the mp is just awesome theres a ton of stuff to unlock especially tags, 22 pages of tags to unlock.
While it was short. The story was absolutely amazing. @left4right This game was not overhyped. We fans hyped it up, but there was little media hype to it. The Multiplayer is extremely addicting, like in CoD4, but much deeper. Multiplayer has been the selling point for CoD since CoD2. The fact that they improved on CoD4s multiplayer in every way is enough to give this game a buy. I think 9 is a bit low. Its a good score, but the fact that MW2 has improved on CoD4 in nearly every way, I believe it should be higher. The only complaints I have with this game are, the weapon sounds, and the maps. All of the weapons sound similar. The maps are kinda camper friendly. But you get used to them.

Hell yes, so glad Chris was at the helm of this review. Always feel he gives games fair reviews without any biased opinions concerning hype, though admittedly i feel he was too generous with Wet.
Great review, this guy is my fav reviewer. Single player looks average, MP and spec ops look great.
its like infinity ward copied bungie's odst and/or valve's l4d2 quick mini upgrades then get so much profit dont get me wrong, the sequels r still awesome
lol I got mw2 and ps3 slim yesterday for xmas and cant play either til xmas and my original ps3s laser stopped workin
Busier battlefield my a$$! A busy battlefield in MW1 was 30something player matches with tons of helis or strikes.
even though ive read about it at numerous other sources, they didnt mention anything about the length of the campaign.

i'm really impressed! I was expecting overblown praise due to the crazy hype but i'm really glad you guys kept it real. Been playing it for some time now, and tbh i expected more from the gfx and campaign. After 2 years in production and a big@ss budget, i was expecting an actual improvement in the visuals...kinda disappointed. As for the campaign....let's say the hype wasn't justified
9.0 about right, I'd say 9.3 but you guys don't do that anymore. I like the new opening :).
I agree with the given score, 9.0 is definitely dead on. The MP is by far the best in the series and Spec-Ops mode is an absolute blast. The reason the the game isn't 9.5 is because of the campaign. It's relatively short and it's sort of lost in translation as you're traveling from locale to locale. Still, an excellent game that I've been playing since launch.
