Modern Warfare 2 is the sequel to Modern Warfare and takes place five years after the death of Russian Ultranationalists' leader Imran Zakhaev. Zakhaev's right hand man Makarov takes revenge against the United States by committing terrorist acts in the U.S. You have to fight back against the Russians and in Mw2 you play as 2 main characters. Pvt. Ramirez who fights for the U.S in the Army Rangers against terrorists attacking the U.S. and a player named Roach who is in an elite group with counter-terrorists around the world called Task Force 141 trying to defeat Makarov and his army. Other similar characters in Modern Warfare 2 from Modern Warfare is John "Soap" MacTavish and John Price. You get to play as Soap in a few missions in the end.

The Modern Warfare 2 game play is similar to past Call of Duties you get two weapons a primary and a secondary unless you switch your secondary to a primary vice versa. If you get damaged you are able to regenerate health by avoiding enemy fire. In campaign there are intels scattered through out the mission which you can find to get an achievement in Modern Warfare 2. A cool thing in the game is after you beat all campaign levels you get to play in the MW2 museum where you can use every weapon in the game, see every character, and see all the vehicles in the game. In the museum there is a button and if you press it every character in the museum will go after you.

Another feature in Modern Warfare 2 is a mode called Special Ops. Special Ops is a single and cooperative mode where you play missions that take place in similar levels in campaign. There are five groups in Special ops that contain more missions and you have to earn stars to unlock more groups. You earn more stars if you beat a mission on a harder difficulty. You can play splitscreen, with a friend, or play by yourself.

Modern Warfare 2 has a wonderful multiplayer. A huge variety of maps some are large and some are small, and a huge variety of game modes. Something new in MW2 is you are able to play online in 3rd person, which is great for players who love playing in 3rd person. There are 10 prestiges in here but you have to reach rank 70 to prestige. You unlock more weapons when you reach higher ranks and unlock attachments by doing challenges for the specific weapon. There are also new perks and some perks from past Call of Duties are taken off. A downside that Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer has now is that there are a bunch of hackers in it so the multiplayer is ruined. It use to be a fair clean game, some games are still legit though.

The graphics in Modern Warfare 2 are great and the sounds are still good. Overall, Modern Warfare 2 is good game to play. Offering a heart-pumping campaign, a nice cooperative mode for you and your friends to play, and a fun multiplayer.
