Modern warfare 2, is a fun, but repetitive FPS, and feels all to similar to its predecessor.

*Spoilers in this review*

Modern warfare 2 is a game in which a ton of people hate, and alot of people love. It has that sense of "Stairway to heavenesque" in which it is popular to hate and still alot of people play it.
Millions and millions of copies were sold, but the age old proverb which states that: "Sales =/= quality", and does it live up to it?
Short answer: Yes.

Modern warfare 2, is a sequel to COD4 and takes place a short while afterwards. Captain Price is nowhere to be seen, and Soap is promoted. And also you star as SGT. "Roach" Sanderson. Horrible nickname if you ask me.

The gameplay has all the same mechanics you've come to known over the years. It feels stale and other than a few new weapons, its all the same. The only change that i saw in the game was the "breach and clear" option, where you but a breach on a wall, and for 5 seconds or so, everything is slo mo and its pretty cool to say the least. However only occurs once or twice in the game, and the only new thing added to the series (Campaign wise)
And the difficulty i found was easy, even on Veteran. Compared to previous games, this one is a cakewalk.

The graphics too, are the same. Grainy and boring. Though there is a noticeabe difference in graphics compared to COD4, it still has the same feel to it, color wise.

The campain itself however, is pretty darn good if you ask me. After a so-so and short campaign in COD4, MW2 is action packed and is just twinge longer to keep a gamer satisfied. The levels are really fun and are worth to go over again, and they're just the right length. Alot of shooting, and stealth levels (Which, by the way are trying too hard to compare the the illustrious "All ghilled up")

Spec Ops, is a new addition to the COD franchise. Basically there are levels in which you or a friend can play and earn stars. There's 69 total stars and by the way can take up a good chunk of time. Spec ops has good replay value, but after the 69 stars are all collected, you dont feel a need to go back again.

And the Online multiplayer that many consider to be the best. The whole MP system has been slightly revamped to be be better than COD4. The kill streak perks are a fun reward and the Tactical nuke is a sweet bonus.
The Rank system is stretched to Level 70, and again Prestige mode. and Theres only 10 levels. But that 10 levels can take a mightly long time to accomplish. What can i say, the multiplayer is good way to relax and kick back with friends to enjoy. Its fun and it rarely gets old.

The storyline was a bit mish mash for me. The whole "No russian" level was good, you get a sense of what Makarov is really like and how smart he really is. And the twist near the end, while a tad predictable was interesting. And yes the comeback of Captain price was indeed priceless (No pun intended)
The ending though was rushed and there were a few questions that werent anwered. It could of been more fleshed out.

The Good:

-Fun and revamped online multiplayer
-Spec Ops is a cute addition
- Good graphics
-Action packed campaign, which is one of the best in the COD franchise. "No Russian" is one to remember.
-Good plot twist and the rise of Captain Price.

The Bad:

-Same gameplay, same guns (a few new), and same color scheme for the graphic engine
-Not even difficult on Veteran
-More fleshed out storyline
-Just nothing new that was added to the game.

The Skinny:

I know that many of you have bought this game. I recommend it if you havent, but i felt it didnt live up to the sales hype.
