Glitchy Multiplayer Keeps This Game From It's Full Potential

User Rating: 8.5 | Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 X360
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 isn't a bad game, it's just not as good as some people make it out to be. The single player experience is very fufilling, containing a well-written storyline and a batch of Spec Ops mission that can also be completed with a friend locally or over your respective system's online service. The Spec Ops missions range from simple run-and-gun tactics to snowmobile races and AC-130 rides. The whole Spec Ops mode is a good diversion from the excellent campaign and the frustrating multiplayer. This leads to my biggest complaint. At this time (3/6/10), multiplayer playlists are full of WTF moments, camping kids with shotguns, and glitchers. I'm surprised that Infinity Ward hasn't bothered to fix the glitches that are so frequently exploited (I'm looking at you, Highrise), and actually designed the maps to let camping be the best strategy. Also, your first online match will be against prestiges and higher ranked users because ,unlike World at War, there is no beginner playlist where you can get a feel for the game online. There is a bright side though, there are no derankers in Modern Warfare 2 (a.k.a Modern Campfare 2).
