I just recently got myself a PS3 and I am generally not a FPS fan on consoles, so my question is: how do the controls fair on the PS3?
I am wondering how easy would be for someone that never played an FPS on a console to get the hang of things. Is the targeting fluid or would it cause me to just dump the game in the trash can?
Thanks in advance!

I'm sorry but I can't really help you. For a console game like myself using the controller comes easy. It shouldn't be to hard though, just play single player, it starts off with a tutorial, it should help somewhat.

I prefer PC FPSes to consoles in pretty much every way, but I had no trouble with CoD's controls on PS3. And I'd never played a PS3 before (though the controller is pretty much the same as PS2, but yeah)

It will come easy in a short time. There is a slight auto aim online anyway so even if your aim isnt 100% it will help make up for it

Pretty easy to learn the controls. The game has a unique aim assist in single player that you'll get used to quickly, and a different more subtle aim assist in multiplayer to make up for the lack of accuracy of a mouse. It's a pretty good system that'll help you get kills of pretty soon.

You can change this setting in the controller options. Took me a while to figure it out but you can, it's like 'inverted' or something

The controls can be adjusted somewhat. The ones I know the effect of are:
You can invert looking up and down.
Flipped swaps L1 (Aim down sights) with L2 (Special Grenade) and R1 (Fire) with R2 (Grenade/equipment)
Tactical swaps O (Crouch) and R3 (Knife)

I have the game on both systems and I have to say that the PS3 controls make sense. It feels sharper using L and R 1 rather than 2. R and L 2 on the ps3 controller seems a little clumsy, where as the triggers on the xbox seem a little stiffer.
Bottom line I think the changes fit the respective pads perfectly.

Waiting for Forza 3 and CoD:MW2!

I *think* there's a demo for MW1 or W@W, one or the other, or both, on PSN. Since MW2 closely resembles MW1, you could download that demo just to get a feel for the aiming and the controls.

I used to agree with that but then I played borderlands for 3 weeks and got used to L2/R2

Yeah, I was constantly throwing flashbangs while trying to aim after playing Operation Flashpoint, until I changed the controls.
