The only reason Xbox 360 was a success because it was launched 2 years ahead of ps3 and many games found their 180 degree way to 360 in the time span of those 2 years while PS3 was only about to surface.As there are impatient gamers out there,it was obvious that they are going to grab whatever they can equivalent of next-gen gaming hype in the market at that moment(I mean who can wait 2 years to play the games on PS3 which your buddies already finished off years back in 360)and so were the game publishers,again,time is money right,why would publishers wait 2 years only to launch games on both the platforms simultaneously.So when the moment finally arrived of PS3's launch,Xbox360 had already hit the impressive sales(not to mention it had monopoly for 2 years in the market without another counterproduct) and ended up with lots of exclusive titles which were from home company "Microsoft games" like halo,gears of waretc as well as third party publishers like dead rising,lost planet by capcom(they are from japan even they couldn't wait) and PS3 had only self published exclusives like killzone 2,uncharted,resistance,ratchet and clank and later came god of war 3 from either SCEA or SCEJ.After the PS3's launch,the third party publisher felt not a little but too risky about bringing their games as ps3 exclusive as it was only beginning to sell and also they felt the uncertainty about it and so the story goes on till today....
Another reason was the price of these two systems,I mean Sony is a good company ok, they make products that are pioneer in technology itself and are very durable,convenient and longlasting(I have fat PS3 which i bought soon after it launched and believe it or not I m still playing from the same machine till today not to remind everybody that its just a matter of months that next gen ps will enter the arena).When PS3 launched,its specs were higher than 360's as it had better computing and graphic processors with better speed,better drive(blu ray[by the way sony was the first one to make a secondary use of ps3 as an all & all movie entertainment device for blu ray movies]),better look and better build,so they had to price it high no matter what knowing that it would directly favor 360's sales beacause they had no choice while at the other hand,360 had comparably lower specs,normal drive that supported dvd9 and was bound to have 1 year marriage with its infamous green ring(2 years max if the ring actually understood how the system was running)then afterthat the fucking PRECIOUS glowed hell;a ring of fire flashing red which clearly stated that it was a crappy box 360 with not so precious ring(even gollum wouldn't care so there's no point in bothering from smeagol).So the developers were confused whether to make games with same performance benchmarks for both the systems or slightly higher for the PS3 as it had potential but they made the game with same goddamn benchmark rates and in some it wasn't even same for PS3.Yes,even the developers were biased about the systems that they became so ignorant of PS3,they didn't code the game right so some of the games had poor frames per second and graphic issues in PS3 than 360 when the same system proved to be graphical and computing wonderhouse through games like killzone2 and uncharted from sony,I mean it was like lets give more attention to the hit one why bother for strugglings.
Then the gamers turn came to choose between these two consoles,whether to buy pricey good one or cheap crappy one and they made the decision wisely:CHEAP CRAPPY ONE,well not all the people are kids of bankers,contractors,ceos or general managers or celebrities or congrssmen I guess.
So the grand conclusion:Xbox 360 was not a great system,it felt closer to be a good system because of the PS3's chronic fate led by disastrous delay and uncompetiting price which actually felt fair to me personally as it had things to be considered over that price.All I don't understand is why it was late,I mean SONY is a responsible company towards its employees,stockholders and most importantly the consumers-mainly the brand conscious one,so why the fuck!!!.I mean,they should fire whoever was the president at that time who handled PS3's overall department.
My message to Sony is that now it's only matter of days to PS4's unveiling and we've no idea what is done with ps4 and what has been done,it's done now,it cannot be altered,the final output is already gone for production so all I can tell is come out proud at E3 with an attracting price and just focus on games and the network,all this TV thing is crap.They want to be in everybody's living room,you be in everybody's mind and heart.Now hit me hard with good looking,great feeling games you goddamn fucking black box and don't make me wait this time.Come on now and reclaim the honor once you had with PS1 and PS2.
NOTE:At least PS3 wasn't hailed as a total failure like the first Xbox-the Halo seller.
