Modern Warfare 3 is currently in development by Infinity Ward with assisted development from Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software. All in all, Modern Warfare 3 needs 3 development teams to get the job done; including all the MW3 weapons, perks, etc.
I personally play call of duty for the fun of competition, not to see extreme violence for recreation. Sorry it's such a high priority for some people lol
@Fleshtrap666 I agree killing people in many modern shooters is boring. I like how in CODW@W your bullets paint your enemies red and the heavier weapons and explosives took off limbs making war seem horrific instead of some MW2 childsplay. I was pretty disapointed that they took gore out of multiplayer in CODBO. I was soo looking foward to blowing off legs with rc cars in mp. Lets cross our fingers the campaign will be as violent as W@W and let us hope the campaign is LONG and not over in a day like BFBC2, MW2, and MOH.
I can pre sense that the cross bow is going to be one of those weapons that when you are getting owned online will be one of the annoying weapons that just keeps kicking your ass. Funny when you are on the giving end though. I never liked W@W appart from Nazi Zombies, multiplayer is fine without gore can't say putting some gut splatter in there wouldn't be fun, doesn't make it any less awesome though. Can't wait for this to come out, just hope they don't make the prestige levels any higher, I never reached 10 on the first Modern Warfare, now it seems like an impossibility, what with me having a life and not playing on it 12 hours a day like a lot people.
If there is no gore in multiplayer I'm seriously debating on canceling my pre order, I'll still get it...but not on the day it comes out. I understand what the developers said that gore does not effect the overall gameplay...it doesn't. But the on thing I absolutely LOATH about Halo, Call of Duty, and Battlefield....am I the only person in the world that get's tired of seeing people die the exact same way over and over?!? World at War got it right...although i thought people lost limbs way to often in that game...it should STILL HAPPEN! No human being with any amount of armor being deployed today is going to take a direct hit from any kind of explosive and die in one piece. Sure I and many others play the single player and enjoy it, but the main reason anyway plays COD is for the multiplayer, No gore in multiplayer is almost like no gore at all.....
@MAKRYS07 I always thought gore was a part of the gameplay, at least it is for me. I like my FPS to be bloody because guns are not toys. You'd think with the technology they have today they could pull off deep custimization(creating the way character look, customizing guns etc..)with gore and bullet wounds at the same time! CODW@W had gore on online multiplayer. O well, at least the campaign in codbo will have bullet wounds and gore so it wont be totally as lame as MW2...

They were asked about the gore a little while ago, and gave this sorta lame excuse (im paraphrasing here): "Well, with this game we really wanted to set out with our three pillars of gameplay; create, customize, compete. We understand that gore was a big part of World at War, but this time we recognized that it was either gameplay or gore. We chose to go with gameplay, and focus solely on making a great game for players to enjoy. So yeah, we left most of the gore out. But I think players will be pleased with the emphasis we placed on the core gameplay, since that's why people play call of duty in the first place" thats roughly what the guy from Treyarch said in a recent interview. I know, lame. but oh well... the game will still be great in my mind, but i definitely liked the gore and dismemberment in WAW. Made it feel much more realistic and just plain awesome!! ;P
@MAKRYS07 that is totally gay and makes no sense..if they show blood why cant they show a wound where the blood comes from? WHy cant explosive crossbows and rc cars blow off the limbs of my enemies in MP??? W@W had gore in mp...why no this??
@aaronfhff123 actually no, there is no gore in mp whatsoever. Atleast, no dismemberment. There is of course blood, but Treyarch has just recently confirmed that the gore and dismemberment WILL be in the game, but only single player. Mp will be more akin to MW, and you will only being seeing blood.
@MAKRYS07 the gore was turned off for the Multiplayer videos and the good news is you can turn it on when it comes out. If you watch the single player videos you will see bullet wounds, stab wounds, and dismemberment.
I hope it isnt like mw2 where anyone can be good at it. Anyone can noobtube all game and never runout of ammo.
The New Video will be released on september 1st, at 6pm (pacific time) which is 9pm eastern time..... hate that they always upload things mainly 4 the west coast.. they should just release it at 7pm east which is 4 pacific
you know what really annoys me is when everyone says they aren't going to get this, yet they also say they hate mw2. And then you say well it's going to to be better than mw2. Then they say well anythings better than that piece of crap. Then you think to yourself then why aren't you Going to get it. It looks like they took a lot of cheapness out though. Which means less noobs. Which means the people who hate noobs should get this. i.e. Prdtr missile is now steerable around the map, instead of stupid overhead view where you can see everyone. 2nd looks like they took slight of hand pro out so noobs can't quick scope horribly around everywhere. And lastly knifes are now 2nd weapons so you don't always have them so if they have commando it will be useless unless you sacrifice 2nd weapon for a knife

I actually never saw that Theater mode thingy. Stopped the video at the end. Until I saw in the comments. Anyway, it's pretty good tool and it will allow for simpler commentaries. Or is this Activision's try to copy Youtube's commentators?!
ok there IS GORE IN SINGLE PLAYER and probably just turned off for this trailer AND THERE WILL BE THEATER MODE WITH SAVING,UPLOADING, AND MAKING CUSTOM FILMS
Man Im a little dissapointed theres no dismemberment like in WaW, I always liekd Treyarch because they gave us the brutality of war..but unless they just havent added it yet Im a little bummed. Oh well, dedicated servers/mod support/console makes up for it ;]
@Deity_Dude yeah, apparently the new 'custom class 2.0' is going to let us customize our guns even more. and apparently even our characters, possibly... :)
@yanman1234 I know man. That was one of my favorite things about WaW. Whether it was turning a corner and blowing off an enemy's leg with my shotgun, or sniping with my trusty PTRS and taking some guys arm off. Ahhhh yes!! I loved WaW for its gritty approach to Cod. I hope they bring that back to this game... Though i dont think they will. So far it seems more like MW2, sadly.... I HAVE NO IDEA why they'd rather follow that fail of a trend... But im not making the game.
will black ops have a skirmish mode like killzone 2 because i think it is a fun way to learn the maps & how all the equipment work & if black ops has a skirmish mode it would be cool if it was co op & had a zombie mode too.
everyone lets demand a demo of multiplayer before any of us make final decisions, remeber mw2 they showed a couple of videos and everyone went to preorder which means that didnt need to make demo to promote it , and mw2 turned out to be dissapointment lacking the feel of cod4, so everyone stop preordering just because of a video and has the name cod infront of it that way we can see if the game is good or not
