Call of Duty: Black Ops User Review

- The Bottom Line:
- "Amazing"
I keep reading about how CoD isn't known for its plot lines so the "mediocre" campaign mode is acceptable. I'd like to know what uber futuristic games they've been playing that dwarfs this game. MW2's campaign was mind blowing and somehow, Black Ops actually made a more impressive and more realistic campaign mode this time around.
Visuals: My jaw was dropped the entire campaign. All the graphics are amazing, and for once, body parts fly off. With its equal parts brutal and crazy, I was reminded of when FEAR first came out.
Audio: With Gary Oldman, Ed Harris, and Ice Cube, you can't go wrong. And dynamite Vietnam soundtrack.
Gameplay: you man every type of vehicle imaginable in a stunning environment. Someone look me in the eyes and tell me the chopper missions didn't make you drop a load in your pants, then sit there in your soiled Levi's because you didn't want to pause the game to clean up.
"Bugs": I've played for about 5 solid hours now and the only thing I saw even resembling a bug is that sometimes your teammates ignore an enemy and you don't realize it til he's a foot away from you. But that's not really a bug, that can happen in the chaos of battle, adding to the realism in my opinion.
Bonus: the post credits setup for zombie missions is funny as hell
You've gotta have serious brain damage or a massive grudge against the creators to give this game anything lower than a 9.
-Edit-
Now that I've put in my hours on multiplayer, I'm still impressed. It's faster paced so that there's less time for children to sit back and talk sh*t and more time for me to pop them in the face with a crossbow. Shotguns are almost worthless and quick scoping is non-existent, both of which make me happy in my pants. The only bad thing right now is the extreme server lags, resulting in games of spray at the teleporters. But supposedly, Treyarch is patching this. We'll see.

I've played all the Modern Warfare games. However, none compare to what Treyarch has done to the Call of Duty series.

Took some time to make another Hellsing playercard emblem for the PC version of Call of Duty Black Ops, in this tutorial I show you how you can create AlucarD, as always you must unlock all 12 layers first and buy all the neccessary stencils first.Posted Feb 20, 2011
