Great content, but the 1200 Microsoft point price tag is too expensive.

User Rating: 6.5 | Call of Duty: Black Ops - First Strike X360
Activision has been "so kind" to release the first map pack of Call of Duty Black Ops. If you don't like Black Ops, there's no need to read this review since you will have no interest in it. Now if you still play Black Ops every night, read on to find out what I thought of the First Strike Map Pack

Komloon- This map takes place in an Asian high rise District. It's filled with jumps, ledges, and many windows. The scenery is nice as the games take place high above the ground, which is neat. The ziplines are the standout feature of this map, where you can zip over a huge empty space to another landing spot. This carries a lot of risk as players can shoot at you, but it's fun. While my least favorite of the new maps, Komloon isn't horrible.

Stadium- This map takes place around a giant stadium with many places to hide behind and shoot at enemies. The unconventional layout of this map is a standout, even though you can't go onto the ice. There are some great lookout spots over objectives. The stadium is really run to run around inside and get some kills. Stadium is a solid map.

Discovery- My personal favorite of the maps, Discovery takes place on abandoned arctic base under the northern lights, which look amazing. There is a lot of cover to hide in, and the middle of the map is the perfect place to get some action. ON one of the sides of the map, there's a massive ledge you get onto and get some easy kills, if the enemy doesn't spot you first. There's also a destructible bridge in the middle of the map for you to enjoy. Discovery is a great map.

Berlin Wall- Another solid map. The obvious standout feature here is the no-man zone where if you go into, you die. The map takes place on either side of the Berlin wall. The map is mostly made up of inside cover and waling across the open path of the no-man zone, which makes for some easy kills.

Ascension is probably the highlight of the entire DLC. It's a zombie map with a very interesting twist. At the beginning, there's no color. The color comes back when you turn on the power. The map takes place on Launch map from the original game, but with a completely different layout. The map comes with space monkeys, a new kind of bomb to use, and some new perks. Also, the lunar landers are very useful for getting out of harms way. Overall, Ascension is a whole lot of zombie killing fun.

Now again, if you have no interest in Black Ops, don't waste you money. If you still play the game, give this some thought before purchasing. There's great content here, but you really want to think about giving Activision any more of your money. The price is too steep for anyone who isn't a hardcore fan.

Overall: 6.5
