The 11th installment in the in franchise CallofDuty:BlackOps managed to show some quite noticeable changes due the developer TreyArch.CallofDuty:BlackOps steers in a different direction of the previous titles.Instead of playing as a soldier that has little or no dialogue in a Campaign that has a storyline pretty much just for the sake of having storyline which happens to not be so great. In CallofDuty:BlackOps you play a main character Alex Mason which the story is seen and told through him. Also you also actually get to see what he looks like unlike in the previous CallofDuty games which you never knew what the character you played as looked like in the campaign. The story of the Campaign is very well told and actually intriguing which you not always want to skip the cut scene prior to the mission you're on.Though the Campaign tends to be on the short the gameplay of it is still fun and worth a play through with some replay value. The Multiplayer on other hand also shows some definite changes and improvement.Which are a new Currency system in which you use to buy weapon unlocks and perks by you are able to gamble with the currency you earn in the competitive multiplayer in what are called wager matches. The changes in the multiplayer that are actual improvements to the gameplay are the better balancing of weapons and perks. No single perk or weapon seems overpowered when in use only quite useful. That goes same way for the killstreaks which are very well balanced this time around.Prestige system ranks now go all the way up to 15 instead of 10.There are bots that you can choose to play with in offline multiplayer.Spiltscreen screen for online multiplayer is now supported which is definitely one the best features in CallofDuty:BlackOps.There is a Theater Mode to save your competive multiplayer matches which works well.Zombie mode is back an improved from CallofDuty:World At War which just as additive and fun if not more fun and addictive.Which also by the way supports spiltscreen online gameplay. My biggest gripe with CallofDuty:BlackOps were the visuals the graphics tended to subpar as in BlackOps actually looked much worse then all the previous current gen CallofDuty games.Muddy Textures that tended to pop in and out character models and the environments just tended to look straight ugly and murky.I know TreyArch went for more of a animated look but the truth is CallofDuty:BlackOps not a good looking game graphically.Seriously it looks like an Original Xbox game if you ask me,CallofDuty2 looks better than CallofDuty:BlackOps.You can run this game on a high end gaming PC with the graphic settings maxed out and it still will look like a last generation console game.I really don't know why the visuals are such a huge down grade from CallofDuty:World At War.But if you're able to look past the visual flaws and focus on the gameplay and features the game is still a very good game.Overall its definitely worth the money due to the improvements to multiplayer gameplay, additional features and more in depth storyline.
