Call me insane, but in most cases I just can't play with a scope. On nothing, not sniper rifles not even a basic sight on an assault rifle either...
I recall in World at War, the sniper rifles came default with a iron sight option. I know it's due to the era of the game and whatnot, but I thought it was worth asking anyway. Would love a SVD with the iron sights.

Double post, but to clarify... I tried searching, but any search with "sniper" or "scope" results in roughly 10 pages of quickscoping QQ. >.>

Set snipers aside then and leave them for when you're bored...
Irons ftw

you can still use the acog/susat scope on your sniper. The optional scopes in world at war were because of the nature of the rifles themselves. Most rifles weren't manufactured with a scope, and only the elite marksmen used them as a sniper rifle. A lot of soldiers used them along side the carbines and semi automatic rifles on the battlefield. In contrast, since then most if not all snipers come with some sort of optic for military applications. Plus you could use the m14 or fn fal if you really wanted to use a battle rifle

The M14 and FAL will both be semi-auto in this so you'll have a choice
.Sweet, thanks for the heads up :3

I definitely know what you mean. I like the "power" of a sniper rifle, but I hate the scopes on them. Any game I can play (such as World at War) where I can use a high-powered rifle without the scope is always a winner for me. I think the biggest reason that scoping just doesn't work for me personally is because while your sensitivity is the same, you're actually turning "slower" the more you zoom in in Call of Duty, which makes it harder to track moving targets. With iron sight it's easier to get ahead of your target to lead them, whereas with scopes it constantly feels like you're "chasing" the target with your scope, or you have to scope out and back in constantly and fuss with it.
Then there's the fun that is the fact that an ACOG Scope on every other gun is steady as a rock but on the Sniper it's like not being able to hold your breath... ever. Definitely makes that option completely worthless.

Heh, good to know I ain't the only one who just can't adjust to a sniper scope. :3
