What is the best gun in Black Ops?

Ok first off no offence but KaosKiller has NO idea whut he is talking about. The best gun by far in the game is the AK74u which is a sub-machine gun. Trust me it is the gun of choice for most of the people in the high ranked clans on GB (Game Battles). You might not be able to go sniping with the AK74 but it ownes the mid and close range areas. I like the gun so much that the gun takes up 4 of my 5 custome classes. I have them all set up differently for different senarios depending on the map and game mode but since I dont know whut type of game mode you usually play ill give my setup for basic team deatmatch.
My setup for team deathmatch usually is:
AK74u:
-front grip only or you can also combine the grip with extended mags but the grip is a must.
-as for perks I usually use scavenger, slight of hand (warlord if u wanna use 2 attachments), and marathon.
Now every person does things a little different but Im honestly telling you that the best gun to use online is deff the AK74u. If u dont believe me next time you go online ask around or go onto the GB website and ask around there they will all tell you the same.

Ehm..I think the Galil or the FAMAS. Both a high Rate of Fire, and a lot of damage per bullet.
The Sniper Rifles are all bad, imo. The only decent SR is the L96A... -
First of all, The easiest way to narrow this down is for me to tell you what weapons are bad. All shotguns, all sub machine guns, and all sniper rifles, all pisols, and most light machine guns. Half the Assault rifles. You know the rest, This game is pretty much all about the Assault rifles, my favorites are the commando, Ak-47, and famas. In that order, they are deadly. If you are good with 3 round burst then use the G-11 for it will be ur weapon. I said all the above are bad because the either make u slow or dont have no range or no firepower, i mean like one sniper rifle up there is ok, but u cant rely on that when things get in close quarters. The subs are downright ridicoulsy weak and they take whole gun to kill someone at 100 yards(some exaggerting) and shotguns are super unrealistic, shotguns shoot further than 5 feet and kill in 1 or 2 shots depending on range. Most accurate shotgun ever is the one off the very first Halo.( I mean the game with the best representation on how a shotgun is in real life)

You can see the "best" weapons by simply looking what has killed you the most from the Combat Record> Weapons> Killed by. It's a crude way of showing which weapons are used the most and roughly translates as the "best."
The most popular guns in the game are probably the Ak74u, Galil and Famas. If you are like everyone else, use those guns. -
there is only 1 bad weapon and that is the sniper rifles[havent upgrade it yet] dont listen to kaoskiller those weapons he likes ill give you info when i upgrade the sniper rifle but its really what you want to use i like RPK and Ray Gun so those weapons i like. Choose the weapons you want to your the only one that choose the weapons you feel deadly with for example i use the starter pistol the most i got mustang and sally [pack a punch starter pistols that shoot grenades but u need jugger-naut 1st]

Well, the weapon dynamics change between campaign and multiplayer. But for multiplayer: SMG - either the AK74u or the Spectre (Spectre's been a favorite since the original Goldeneye); AR - the AUG; SR - Dragunov; Pistols - M1911; other secondary - Ballistic Knife; and I try to avoid using shotguns and launchers... ever. For campaign weapons I like anything automatic with a reflex or red dot sight.

To Lunarace, I put the thing about the best shotgun off to the side as to how a shotgun should be, I'm not talking about halo, i just made a reference to it. The shotguns on black-ops suck, I mean wow they kill in one shot at point blank, I have just as much time to knife than u would to get ur shot off. My answer still stands above, but I did forget to mention if you use a smg to use the AK-74u, this smg is good, I don't know why i forgot to mention it, i must have got it mixed up the the real AK, but I like em both.
Everything i have mentioned is pretty accurate and Lunarace is just off, I mean most of what he's talking about is Zombies and doesn't know how to interpret what i wrote.
