Call of the Dead puzzle?

I am doing the Original Characters puzzle on Call of the Dead and am confused about the 8th step in Co-op.,because some of the guides I find say that after the dezombified zombie walks into the light at the lighthouse you need to kill him with a Pack-a-Punched gun and other guide say it doesn't matter what gun it is.Which is it?

It doesn't matter what gun you use to kill him. Although a Pack a Punched Ray Gun or Scavenger will kill him real quickly. You know you killed the dezombified man is when he is in a laying position while being dragged up to the top of the lighthouse. Once he hits the top the Golden Rod would descend down for you to pick up.
