The Call of Duty games would be much better off if they had LONGER single-player campaigns.
I mean, with 4-5 hour campaigns, why do they even bother putting it in at all?
If they don't care, just make the CoD games multiplayer-only games, since that seems to be what everyone cares about these days.
I really want to play the CoD games, but I'm not into multiplayer at all, so it doesn't feel worth it to waste my money on the games with 4-5 hour campaigns.
Too bad.
i didn't play the first black ops but i really enjoyed this game, i even think its better MW 2 & MW 3 my reason are more focus into campaign mode, better gameplay , and more innovative elements. not too fond of the zombie aspect but a great game all the same.
Leauge Play is nothing new. Ranked playlists have existed ever since Online FPS play has hit the consoles. The strike missions were one of my least favorite missions of the campaign. The AI is too week often commiting fratercide or simply running in front of the enemy or pass them to get to a check point. It could have done with more refinement for merging an RTS with an FPS but it felt more like a cheap knock off from Battle Field 2 on Xbox. However the fact is that it looks like this game was ment to only last a year. As with Activision trying to milk Treyarch most are afraid that they will run a good franchise to the ground.
The worst COD game to be released to date. It really is a crock of ****. Multiplayer has No dedicated servers, The worst lag compensation ever seen and just flat, dull run and gun gameplay. There is no strategy involved and no skill needed. Just simply run and gun. If you haven't brought this yet then well done on saving yourself however much it is where you are. So much for the COD innovation crap treyarch were spouting before release. This is MW3 with the main difference being......well, there is no difference. Lucky it got an 8 because if GS were to review it again now they'd probably give it the 5 it's worth.
How does the zombies mode suck? I don't get Gamespot reviews anymore. Don't even know why I bother watching them.
the visible hitmarkers in the campaign ruined the single player for me. I am not stupid, I can tell when I shot an enemy dead from treyarch's beautiful blood and gore effects. hitmarkers should be left for multiplayer only(even there they look corny IMO). Is there a cheat code to turn off the hitmarkers?
@StarWolf84 I think both are good games. Competition between game producers will generate better and better games :)

1 Like 8 is not a good score. Waiting for that 10 to come out, which will prob be GTA. Prefer this over Halo. More realistic. Will wait to buy this. These shooters campaigns are too short.
@mediarays I just bought Ghost Recon Future Soldier (still waiting for it to arrive)--I am assuming that's the game you meant. How good is it?
@chessmaniac @mediarays You will love it.The graphics are very nice and the gameplay is addictive.Especially the gun mechanism is great.
i like the game only downfall is i keep losing gamesaves and have to start from the beginning
This game felt like the First ACTUAL COD sequal in a very long time. COD4 got me into the series again, MW2 kept me in the multiplayer, but this game finally felt like a real sequal! they changed things and they were good changes. i love the campaign so much and how much replay value it holds. this is what a real game should be. MUCH better than halo 4
@jollyjoel23 I have a highend comp, but still play CoD4 online regularly. Can't go wrong there. It is the best multi player in the series. Do any of the other CoD games have dedicated servers?
1 Like Game is actually quite possibly the worst game i have evr played. The 1st one was good and I actually quite enjoyed it...this is literally the same thing and it takes place in the future like wtf? i played a quarter of the campaign and the online was no fun....if u ask me....a waste of 60 bucks....this shit gets a 3.5 and deserves no higher....i want my money back.
1 Like I was really ready to hate this game. Bought the game thinking id regret it and it actually blew me away they finally got it right. Anyone who complains about the single player is obviously just a troll whoever bought this game hoping for a good single player is obviously a clown and theyre opinion shouldnt be taken seriously anyways. The multiplayer is fantastic, hitboxes are nice and small certainly not a noob friendly game. There isn't too much death from above.
@Arian9 What do you mean to say? That single player does not matter any more? I play a lot of online, but also highly value developers like Crytek, THQ, Visceral Games, and others who produce solid single player campaigns. If you are merely pointing out that most games have lame single player these days--well, sadly that is true.

I just find it amusing how you accuse others of commenting about the game instead of the video, when all you're doing is commenting about other people... instead of the video. Not only that, you accuse others of being whiny little nerds when all you're doing is whining yourself, which quite effectively puts you in the same category as those you are discriminating against.
Basically, the bottom line is that your comment is one massive self-contradiction.
2 Like @Sp3ncerK not really. treyarch's games are more brutal than IW games. With IW games you don't see arms and legs getting ripped off, no chopping off heads, and the guns don't paint enemies red like in treyarch's games.
The Resistance fall of man style X hitmarkers during campaign, made the campaign feel less immersive than past COD campaigns. X Hitmarkers are cool for MP but make them invisible in the campaign, FPS gamers are not stupid, we can tell from Treyarch's beautiful blood effects when we hit a digital soldier. Also the campaign on veteran was far too easy and short. This game had so much potential but they dumbed it down so much.
I was not able to play the first on pc, too many crashes and savegame loss. I'm loving the second. Both the campaign and the multiplayer.
I've been a fan of Call of Duty since the first game. Then came MW3 wich was totally crap. But hey at least i still had Black Ops. And now i find that Black Ops 2 makes all the same mistakes that MW3 did. Like Treyarch just copied everything from Infinity Ward without checking wheter it was good or not. So now i'm forced to re-sell this game to Gamemania cause it's that bad.
A little advice to Treyarch. Try making your own game instead of badly ripping off onother.
@erwingameon I agree, black ops was great! After MW3, i also went back to Black Ops. Black ops 2 really is a let down compared to the first game. I wish Black ops 2 campaign didn't have the annoying hitmarkers, Bo1 campaign worked just fine w/o them
