A step in the right direction...

User Rating: 8.5 | Call of Duty: Black Ops II X360
First I will say, I've been playing Call of Duty since the original release for the PC. I've grown up playing FPS. Competitive and casual. I am a huge Battlefield fan, which I still prefer over Call of Duty, but I decided to purchase this game since all of my friends told me they were getting it. After playing it for a while something about this Call of Duty told me it's different then the rest, in a good way.

The gameplay of Call of Duty sticks to it's roots that has made it so successful. Fast paced action is sure to please anyone who has stuck to this series. Multiplayer has some welcomed changes such as the wild card system and new weapons, perks, types of grenades, and killstreak bonuses. The thing that struck me most about this game was how much it has advanced since the previous version of Black Ops. The modern weapons and maps are great. The spawn points and teams are balanced based on player skill. Even some small improvements can make the game more enjoyable on a larger scale.

Zombies Mode: I've played Zombies Mode a handful of times and it seems like that may have been the one area of the game that gotten worse. It's still fun to play, but erratic zombie movements and open map areas to walk around make the game mode confusing for people who haven't played Zombies in Black Ops 2. The maps and gameplay is entirely different.

Overall the game deserves 8.5/10 for the welcomed improvements in multiplayer. It still feels like something is missing, but overall a good addition to the series.
