its both. there are 2 storylines. one in 1970s-1980s and the other during 2025

As stated there are two stories, the 70-80s lone and 2025, so in part yes, and although it is in the future at a point it seems totally realistic so far in my opinion, the technology seems like it can be made today. So basically yes, but it's just a date and doesnt mean much other than it gives a feel to the story anmd makes the player think if it could happen at that date.

ONly about 3 or 4 missions take place in the 80's. The majority of the game is in the future.
