Too often we have tried to envision the perfect multiplayer shooter; what it would feel like, sound like, and how competitive it would be. Well, it's here. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare captures the essence of tightly wound and perfected gameplay, and it does it with amazing presentation. The controls: responsive. The effects: accurate. The sound: you can hear the bullets wizzing by your head in your living room. All of this comes with an endless number of class combinations as different weapons attachments and game perks leave you to make the decision of what type of soldier you want to be. You want to be a silent hunter? Fine. Then put on your silencer and become untraceable. You want to be a destroyer and shoot through walls? Okay. Put on your grip, select deep impact, and take that RPD for a ride. Snipe with an AK47? Why not? See how the ACOG Scope treats your enemies. Start a clan? Start recruiting! The possibilities are endless.
Of course, like most all other multiplayer games, it couldn't dodge some of the biggest bullets, such as spawn camping, quick sniping, lag kills, modded controllers, etc...but it comes pretty close. Along with a quick, yet solid single-player, Activision and Infinity Ward have created an instant classic. We've waited a long time for head-shots this accurate. Now, they're finally here. So go ahead, and stab, frag, snipe, or just blow your way through the clan competition.
