First Game I Bought On Its Release Day

User Rating: 9.5 | Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare X360
Wow! Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare rocked. One of the best FPS I've ever played, and although the campaign was short it was the most satisfying ten hours of my gaming life.

The game really tries to hit an emotional tie with the player by bringing the action home. This threat to Western civilization makes the player actually want to stop the villian and gives a motive to do so. The pacing is solid, and the stealth aspects are fantastic. There is nothing more satisfying than taking out an enemy patrol without detection.

The characters are not really given any background story with very little history about the group given. This doesnt hinder the game it just keeps everything about the game feeling a little shallow. I always think story is the most important part of the game and even though Modern Warfare didn't go completely in depth it gave me enough to understand the characters personal vendettas with the villian and made me want to keep playing through the campaign.

The online multiplayer is what makes this game truely special. Various game styles and levelling rewards make the online play incredibly addictive and has definitely set a bar for online multiplayer that will be tough to match.

There are no major downfalls of this game, its crisp, the story is sharp, pacing is great and online multiplayer is top notch. It is a must buy.
