Not bad WWII game, could have had some improvement.

User Rating: 8 | Call of Duty 2: Big Red One PS2
The second COD game in the COD series is Call of Duty 2: Big Red One focused on the paths of the American 1st Infantry division, otherwise known as the Big Red One. The overall performance of the game is great and the punchy gameplay puts a lot into it. The standard COD missions is 14 total missions for console games (PS2, Xbox) for WWII. Maybe that could have been extended and if it was, things would be a lot more better.

The storyline being set out in three different areas (Africa, Italy and Western Europe) really adds to it, from the excitement of desert sniper to close-combat full-on winter battles. Below I list the missions in the game and what I think of them:

1. Prologue: The excitment of the constant shell explosions and bullets flying through the air really puts an effect on the game.

2. Baptism by Fire: The first based in Africa (Oran). You have to capture and secure an airfield. Good combat and it is great that you can use an anti-aircraft weapon in this mission.

3. Tankers: Not bad, quite challenging being around in a tank. The controls take a while to get use to, actually quite fun, but difficult.

4. The Desert Fox: Impressive Desert combat in a field of shrapnel, dead bodies and armour. You have to destroy a minefield and end up having to re-capture allied artillery taken over by the axis.

5. Counter-attack: The desert gameplay of the town of Kasserine is great, defending the town from a vast of enemy soldiers. In the end you're running from a panzer coming up your backside every step of the way as your retreat through enemy territory.

6. Liberators: The though of being in an aircraft might be a little worrying but the excitement of shooting down enemy fighter's in mid-air really puts adrenalin into you. An excellent mission.

7. Operation Husky: Leaving the desert filled Africa into the island of Sicily, Italy is a good transit with heavily guarded beachfront of constant gunfire and artillery motion. Great mission.

8. Piano Lupo: Starting out trying to shoot plane coming in from every angle of a moving half-track with a Flak-gun is really challenging but fun at first in this daring mission.

9. Farewell to Friends: One comrad officially dies in this mission in Triona with close-combat within a stone city, great gameplay and a good mission.

10. The Great Crusade: Now into the best part of the war, Europe. Landing at Ohama beach is north-eastern France sounds a little good. Now that German's are firing at you from every direction, things might seem a little difficult.

11. An Easy Detail: Sgt. Hawkins dies in this mission after being shot by a sniper, Pvt. Kelly takes over and leads the rest of the mission through French countryside in the rain. Great mission, quite difficult.

12. Crucifix Hill: Moving through a cemetery in the French Border into Belguim is a ridge of Nazi-filled soilders. Fighting through a cemetery and eventually breaking through to destroy some Flak Guns. Actually a little difficult but a good mission.

13. The Last Train: Now into the wintery countrysides of Eastern France, this is house-to-house combat in a town filled with Germans, a little difficult but easy when you get into the hang of things.

14. The Dragon's Teeth: At the German border, fighting through a maze of barb-wire German controlled. The mission finally ends by crossing the border and destorying a couple of V2's (world's first ballistic missile, by Hitler).

Overall excellent gameplay to an excellent game, yet still improvement needs to be made in a couple of areas including graphics at some point and the variety of missions.
