Whats happened to the old skool light gun system?

**WARNING** This is not a light gun game in the traditional sense of things like house of the dead, time crisis etc. It is uses the same system as the wii. I played Cabela's games in the arcades and i really enjoyed it. But the home version is not the same.
You have a sensor bar in which you calibrate the light gun to the sensor, then you have a cursor on the screen exactly the same as if you were using the wii remote to navigate around the menus etc. This makes the scope useless as the cursor and the scope are not in a alignment around the whole screen.

If i had known it was going to be like this i would have never made this purchase. Im a big fan of light gun games, i loved things such as house of the dead, time crisis and all the other ones you would find around the arcades. But i find this system very very uncomfortable to play. There is no way to change the sensitivity at all, So if you shot something in one corner of the screen, then you went to shoot something on the otherside of the screen the you have to painstakenly drag the cursor over to shoot it.

I did try to research this game by reading reviews and watching youtube video reviews as much as possible before buying, but no one gave any indication of what i have mentioned above, instead just mainly commenting on the game itself, so i am making everyone aware now.

As for the game itself, the galleries are fun for a little while and it works best as a on-rails shooter. The story mode however, you have to use the control stick on the gun to walk/move around. Then when a threat appears you have to move the cursor over to shoot it. This can be quite fustrating at times as it is trying to be a first person shooter while mixing it up with the light gun (wii remote) system, and result is poor. It also found the story mode to be quite boring aswell.

Overall i would not recommended getting this. For the price to pay you are far better off getting a top new release game, and if you are looking for some casual fun for a party or family of casual gamers spend a little more and get a kinect. Dont let the gimmick of the gun seem like a fun toy, because it is not.
