Great racing game. The crashes is what makes this game great.

User Rating: 9.3 | Burnout 2: Point of Impact PS2
Burnout 2 does something that other racing games haven't touched yet. The idea of crashing to be a good thing. In other racing games, crashing in to a curb or bystander couuld result in complete devestation to your race. In Burnout 2, crashing is actually a mode that forces you to crash to win. Crashing in races has mixed blessings. It, of course, slows you down, but allows you to see your car and others scrape each other, and watch doors and wheels fly. It sometimes almost makes you want to crash to see the damae you can do. The sense of speed in the game is also very good. When going 150+, you can really feel the speed, and creates the sensation that feels good when racing. The pursuits also add a bit of playing time to the game. Although it could have been made better, it is still a great mode. Police should have been involved more often in races. There were very few pursuits in the game and never were you the person escaping. Multiplayer makes the game even more enjoyable, as you can compete against each other to see who can avoid the most traffic, or who can hit the most traffic. Graphics are excellent considering how old it is, the sound track is not very good, and you can't really here it until you boost. crash effects are great in this game. It's also a great game to just pick up and play. They could have had more customization in cars, but for an arcade racing game, it's probably the best you can find.
