This was my 1st in the Burnout series, and it hooked me right away. Most fun you can have on a console.

I dont know how I missed the 1st Burnout, I must have been under a rock at the time. But Burnout 2 left quite an impression. It was like no other racing game I had seen, before or since. Even though I have its 2 successors I do believe this one is my favorite. It had an element I cant put my finger on, but I didnt even care when I crashed or lost. It would leave me in the floor laughing no matter. Its main difference is the use of the brake, its not for slowing down, its to manage impossible corners at full speed, hahaha you HAVE to love that. And the sheer feeling of speed you get zipping through traffic being rewarded for dangerous driving is the coolest idea in an arcade racer Ive ever seen. While there arent alot of great cars to choose from its easy to just find 1 that fits your style best and go to town. Im not a big fan of the crash events, I play them but its just not my thing. But when I have friends over they just cant compete with me in racing so we end up crashing to have a fair game. Everyone seems to have a blast causing total mayem and racking up damage dollars. I absolutely love this game and am sure any racing enthusiast will as well. Its my pick as best arcade racing game so far. Sorry EA, your Burnouts just dont compare, sure you have better graphics, and I do like Burnout 3. But the latest Burnout was pretty disappointing. Ill always have Burnout 2 to play though.
