Great fun! Nice to see a game that doesn't pander to the limper wristed cadre of basement dwelling nerds out there. There is no excuse or attempt to represent that this title is anything but what it is - a gleeful romp of mashing and blasting. Only drawback is the relatively linear progression of gameplay, although you don't feel it as much as some others. Weapons are thoroughly satisfying, and the characters' interaction with environment and objects is masterfully rendered. There are enough checkpoints to make lack of a save function acceptable. Skill points system is a little complicated, but actually substitutes for the neglected "deeply meaningful plot" to encourage deeper immersion into the game. Well crafted difficulty splits allow for either casual or serious participation - sometimes it is cool to just kick some a#$!
Nice job! A welcome break from those who take themselves too seriously.
