Bullet Witch is a fun shooter to play and master.

When I first heard Bullet Witch, it didn't really look interesting to me untill I was looking for another shooter with an old school feel to it and I decided to look back at this game again since it did feel like an old school shooter with tons of enemies and fast-paced action. So I got the game and here how I felt about it.

The storyline is very standard. Another storyline about humanity is in trouble. However, it does have a nice gothic side to it where one has to sacrifice his/her life in this dark forest to bring the demons into Earth. This guy sacrificed himself to bring his daughter back to life since he cares about her a lot and is basically a selfish person. He couldn't stand her death in an airplane crash. Apparantly, the daughter came back as a witch-where you play as her and her name is Alicia Claus. The story will get more interesting as you play through the game with a twist at the near end. So overall, I thought the story was solid.

The gameplay is the best part of this game. It's relentless with the action and if you love running and gunning, this game involves a lot of that. I'm huge a fan of that type of style so i basically loved the gameplay a lot. However, what makes this game so cool to other shooters are the spells. You get to use Witchcraft! Most of the spells are somewhat balanced out. There are certain situations where you gotta use this spell or that spell. The weapons are very balanced out. The Machinegun is the most versatile, but it's not always dependable. The shotgun is deadly at close range and it's range is actually pretty decent. The cannon is somewhat like a standard rifle and it can take down vehicles. It can also turn into a sniper rifle with this one spell in the game. Now the last weapon is the minigun which is incredibly deadly at close range, but inaccurate, slows down your movement, and does require a good amount of mana to reload. Yup, you use mana to reload weapons and cast your spells. They will regenerate like RPG games and the game uses the Halo shield system so you can regenerate your life if you're behind cover and not taking any damage. The enemies are like Call Of Duty. You fight a lot of (demon) marines (they do have roles though: sniper, regular, elite, etc) a couple of tanks, and a couple of more different type of enemies. Some people complain about the bad AI in this game. It's true that the game does have bad AI, but there are Commandos and these guys basically give them orders so it does have make the game a bit more interesting. Also playing this game on the hardest difficulty (Hell) makes you want to thank the developers for not making the enemies too smart since they do a lot more damage, they are a lot more tougher, and this game features some very hard battles. Basically, you won't experience the true gameplay of Bullet Witch untill you beat the Hard difficulty where you can unlock Chaos and if you beat Chaos, you unlock Hell. The Chaos and Hell difficulty are the "real" way to play Bullet Witch. There are boss fights too and they are fun, but man the last one is extremely frustrating. It's about 20 minutes long with no checkpoints. Bullet Witch features this system where when you finish a stage, you can upgrade your weapons, spells, health, and mana. It does come with you on any difficulty you play. The whole campaign will take about 6-7 hours to beat it. There is no online play.

It's no doubt that the graphics aren't the best, but it still new gen. It has amazing physics by the way. So it doesn't bother me since I'm not a guy who's obsessed with graphics. It looks fine to me.

I have no problems with the sounds. The game does offer good music and it does fit the mood, but they're not too memorable except the ending song where it's a portrait of the main character. The guns, enemies, spells, and characters all sound fine to me. However, I do think the Commandos sound too much like a human being though.

I really enjoyed Bullet Witch a lot. It's a very fun game and I find it very replayable since there's a ladder system, bonus missions from DLC, and playing the game on Hell really makes you want to come back again and try new ways to beat the game. I love this game for bringing some great times of me playing Doom and Wolfenstein 3D back then. It does feel like an old school shooter. It's what I call an underrated game. It's one of my favorite new gen games of all time.
