Hell's Highway could be fun if the pacing wasn't so uneven and there weren't so many control problems....

Picking this game up for $10 felt like a steal, yet I returned it the next day. The graphics were fine, the story seemed good, but there was just a couple problems in it that ruined the game for me. For one, you CAN'T skip cutscenes. For me, I just want to get into the action. Second, the checkpoints are scare which bugs me greatly. I don't want to die after killing 15 enemies and then have to kill them all AGAIN. It's frustrating and a waste of time. Third, the cover-system is awful. When it tells you to hold down LS, half the time you'll jump over the barricades. Or when your trying to run your guy will duck. It's frustrating and causes you to die frequently mainly because enemies can kill you with 4 shots even on casual. The third and final problem is pacing. It takes forever to get the damn cutscenes finished and by the time they are done, you'll have to walk around for 3 minutes and then watch another cutscene followed by some shallow shooting sections. The guns by the way don't feel powerful at all.

Overall, my first experience with Brothers in Arms was not enjoyable and I hope Furious 4 is better despite all the complaint about it. It looks like a much more fun, upbeat shooter.
