A good game that still needs some improvement

I never was very interested in this game, but once I saw that they sold it at 10 $ new, I gave it a shot.

I always liked shooters, and I liked them even more when they had a story.
The game Is the third part of a series where you follow the Allied liberation in Holland, even if you didn't play the other games of the series you fit in instantly and don't need a re cap.

The story can be interesting, but don't expect twists, big revelations ore more, it is just good.

Gameplay:

You not only play as in a normal FPS but you also command a small group of soldiers, you can give them orders where to position themselves or who to shoot..

The good thing is that the A.I. Of your companions and the one of the enemies is well scripted and you never, or just in very, very few occasions feel frustrated. But, you don't have a large option of commands, it is just move ore shoot and that's it. And it is because of this you will find yourself doing most of the dangerous action.
That's bad because it is like a poor mixture between Advance Warfigher and call of duty, they could have done much much more.
Never the less you can rely on your band of brothers and more that in one occasion the save your a**.
The most important part of the game is the cover system, excellent idea, no space for rambo shooting fever, it makes you think what next. Sometimes it is good, and some times it is really bad.
So it is an excellent idea sometimes it saves your skin but sometimes it doesn't allow to shoot where you would like to.

Graphics:

The good part is that they tried to make II WW cruel and ugly as it really was, and not a romantic field of brave man, and in some missions you can really feel the atmosphere.
On other hand they use the Unreal Engine, and you feel that you have seen all that, and some times that the surrounding are cartoon like.
In my opinion the developers didn't use all the possibilities of it and you feel like the surroundings are unpolished and not so detailed.
Not that you want to marvel on the refractions of the water meanwhile Germans are shooting at you like crazy, but you can see the difference with other games.
Nor beautiful nor terrible. Just good.

Music:

Music is great and (if I remember well) some pieces are taken from the TV series.

All the ideas are great, but there is a lot of place for improvement, from the orders you give to your companions, to graphics. The game isn't long and isn't even very short. Every thing you think about this game is just good, never excellent but also fortunately never terrible.
If you find it with a newspaper or for 10$ buks, you will not regret buying it, otherwise wait just a bit and get it, it is a good game.
