Shooters are basicly the same, though some of you might disagree.
If a shooter game is great, I play it. Crysis and Ghost Recon are two excellent examples of such. Brink brings a new RP feature into the shooter, which is customizing your own character. Though at the moment, they could need a little more content to the customization, it works quite well. The game is developed by Bethesda Softworks, who are behind the great titles, like Fallout and The Elder Scrolls. They have specialized in developing RPG's and they have a great gameplay in those games. Those of you who mostly play FPS or other shooters, might have an other point of view, on how the gameplay is supposed to be in a shooter. It would not surprise me, if they focused too much on the extended features for their shooter-game. Personaly I think the gameplay is great, but those of you who consider yourselves professionals in shooters might have an other idea of gameplay for such.
I read the reviews and expected a bad experience with Brink, but I had a rather good one.
The storyline might be a little thin but basicly, this game entertains me. It feels and works quite well. The new way of free movement works just fine, and I do not see anything wrong with this game. It still needs the little extra WAUW factor, which makes a game entirely different from others.
The main reason for peoples disapointment with this game, is that it was probably cracked up to be a lot more than it turned out to be. Just expect it to be another shooter with character customization and improved movement you should be satisfied enough.
