Brink was a Game that had amazing potential, and a chance to be something big, but in the end decided to ruin that.

This review won't be too long, because there really isn't much to say, that is why this game is a let down, the story doesn't stick out, the guns look beefy, but they don't deliver a any kind of punch, the grenades seem powerful but do less damage than a firecracker, and the classes all have their own purposes, but they all involve just pressing a same button to execute commands.

The Customization is good, the graphics are also pretty good, but it all the pros are extremely outnumbered by the cons.

Lets just start with something simple, Gunfire, it should feel real, it should have a nice beautiful kick, something that shakes and slightly blurs your screen, the gun should be beefy, and it should be powerful, it should have a nice recoil, it should vibrate your controller, and should have a nice full punch to the sound, not a pop, more like an overpowering impact type sound, something that makes you want to fire it again, just to hear that sound, and just to see how much damage, and ripping destruction one round causes to the environment, like the bullet punching through wooden walls, and a blockbuster impact to an enemy body, sending them flying through the air, with an amazing, beautiful rag doll like effect.

Brink has none of that, it sounds like your snapping a twig when you pull the trigger, it does nearly no damage to enemy targets, you have to almost unload an entire Magazine into an enemy to kill them, even aiming down your irons.

The upgrades are very nice looking for your weapon, but hardly show any differences, or have any benefits, the only beneficial upgrade that makes an obvious difference is the upgrades on your weapons magazine.

Another simple thing for FPS games is grenades, this game will make you upset with how horrible the grenades are.

When you throw a grenade, their should be that small silence, and then the sudden deafening super sonic explosion, that would send anyone in the room flying into the ceiling, or into a wall, or in the case of an M game, explode targets, you should be able to see the grenade, and you should be able to witness how nice and heavy it looks in your hand, and you should be able to remove the pin, and lesson to the deadly clicks the Grenade makes before it blows, and how nice it bounces across the floor, and how smoothly and slowly it rolls after the impact to the ground.

Brink does none of those thing either, you can hardly see the grenade, you don't carry it in your hand, when thrown it looks hardly deadly, and is extremely small, it makes a pop like sound, and emits a small soda can sized flash when it explodes, leaving a very small black smear on the ground, and not even killing your enemies, your enemies can be a couple feet from it and take no damage, and the small vibration in your controller, and very small rumble it causes are quite pathetic.

Melee moves are also pathetic, the free running aspect of the game has multiple glitches, and the idea of cover is almost none existent.

Yes there is customization, and yes there is two different campaigns, but the campaigns are really short, and the customization is way too limited to make even attempt to make up for some of the games problems.

Every single gun... EVEN THE SHOTGUN is really weak, and very inaccurate, the enemy AI pretty much waits for you to kill them, and you will find yourself getting in some of the biggest firefights in the game, and still thinking that was a small encounter with a scouting team.

And the multiplayer never ceases to disappoint, the classes are all the same doing different things, all involving a press of a single button, and they all serve nearly no purpose, except for Medic, and Soldier, where you can have infinite syringes, or ammo.

And the game is pretty short.

Everything your favorite FPS games are...

Brink is not...

PARENTAL ADVISORY

There is swearing, but it is pretty mild though. maybe a b**ch, b**tard, damn, hell, crap, christ, and a couple, or possibly a few uses of sh*t

The violence is pretty pathetic, it is never gonna feel that intense for your kid, and that is pretty much it.

Your kid is probably not even gonna want this, so there is no need to fret, but just in case they want to try it, there is pretty much nothing wrong with it.
