I've looked through a few FAQ's I haven't really been able to find much info about equipment that can be used in battle to cast spells. Does anyone have a list of these or know where I can find one?

Ouroboros is the best in the game, imo. I love that thing, abuse the crap out of it.

Holy Avenger is a good second, only because there aren't any particularly great sources of Might-casting items. I use War Shout at the beginning of battles, but then if someone dies, I hate to waste another Shout

Had you abused a bunch of Royal Daggers instead, you would not have needed the Ouroboros. :-P
At least in this game, I would say the best strategies involve not dying. With the proper defenses, no enemy deals enough damage to take you out before you can heal back up.

You try to run away. But there's no escape! The enemy tries to run away. But there's no escape!

Thanks that's just what I was looking for, I wondered what the Ouroboros did, it does nothing at all if the target isn't dead.

What? waste an entire round just to buff my party's defense? There's no time, man! I've got DPS to maintain!!

In all seriousness, most of my deaths are weretiger and/or berserk related. >_>

My party likes to hurt things. Even if those things are itself.

Using Royal Daggers seems like a waste of a turn to me since you can just use Shield instead, unless you really want to stack defense buffs.

Another unrelated question, I was looking at that guide and the Faerie Village Gift Shop list, does raising culture level have any effect on the speed of the Gift Shop?

Ha, you're complaining about wasting turns and you're actually using Berserk? :-D

Well, stacking them is generally the point of defense buffs. And the earlier you get full defense up, the earlier you can get to dealing damage with reckless abandon.

I noticed that list is missing a few things, it has Force Armor and Mind Shield listed for their stat bonuses, but it doesn't say what they do when used as items in battle. It tells you what all the weapons do when used in battle, but none of the armor.

    What? Berserk is fun!

Not the best strategy, sure... but fun!

Once your party is powerful enough to one-shot archmages, it's a good way to add an extra element of complexity.

I like using Berserk too against Archmages, if I can kill them before my character dies that is. Can you use Sudden Death to kill Berserkers and Archmages?

    No, they're both immune.

Unless I'm wrong... but I'm pretty sure I've tried it on both of them.
