Pros

+An original storyline that has influences from Christianity.

+Fusion forms available for characters

+Each character has a unique ability which they can use outside of battle and for different purposes in the game.

+Ability to change formation and setup for battles (much more variety than in the first game)

+Fishing is now a mini game.

+Ability to create your own town in three different fashions

+Visuals have slightly been improved with much more detailed sprites and objects

+OST has vastly improved and even uses some of the tracks from the first game.

+Up to 3 different endings

Cons

-Ryu's dragon transformations are no longer lasting in battle but act like a summon

-Some of the aspects of the game give you no clues whatsoever to do a certain task to get a certain item or event to happen (i.e. the earth shaman quest)

-Gameplay overall is generic

-Translation both in story and in battle are horrible

-Item limitations still exist - you can only have 9 of each item in each cell still.
