Despite its high difficulty, Dragon Quarter can be easiest RPG you've ever played.

User Rating: 7.5 | Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter PS2
Do note that this game can be hard at first, then very easy after you get the game's mechanics. Despite being the shortest Breath of Fire ever, topping at around 15-20 hours on your first playthrough not counting the optional dungeon of course, Dragon Quarter's got a lot of replay value actually if you can bother with the fact you have to 'replay' the game several to over a dozen times over. and also with the high difficulty the game has on those not patient enough to find the 'trick' to level up, most will find it nigh impossible to finish. Few savepoints, and the fact that you need to finish through the game without using Ryu's dragon form much, which is just one by the way as in previous games where you're introduced to a various amount of dragons, that you can only use it sparingly and rarely, while using it will make fights easier and bosses also if you can strategically use it appropriately. Aside from the difficulty, the game's got a lot to offer, a bonus dungeon where you can slay an optional boss, collecting skills, item hunting, which is an rpg epitome is not present though so dont bother, and raising an ant colony, much like the fairy villages before. DQ's story is very mediocre at best and isnt up to par as to some notable major rpg franchises or previous games in the series, though you could get the whole story after playing throught the game several times through its SOL system. Which would be best for you to find out yourself about. I'd probably recommend it only for BOF fans, and hardcore RPG gamers as the casual ones might get turned off due to the difficulty, and the fact that you cant 'finish it off' on your first playthrough.
