It's a good solid RP and for those that play a lot of those, the opening is funny though the ending is OK.

This game starts out pretty well. It's interesting and it's got some nice points and I particularly like how you can actually choose what your character specializes in. Though that's about as far as it goes. What you choose to specialize in is the extent of your customization. You can't choose your powers or anything like that which is a bit of a let down. But the opening sequence is funny.
The story sounds pretty solid and it's really quite interesting too. There are a lot of cool ways to go though it's pretty linear and a lot of the side quest are vague and really annoying since they don't have a lot of description on the quest book you get so it's hard to figure out what you should do and where you got.
The characters and world are interesting enough though. Your character doesn't ever speak though he "talks" to all of the characters which isn't unusual for an XSeed game. You eventually get joined by a total of 5 companions the keep with you throughout your journey and you get joined by others with "Travelers" though that only happens once and then they go their own way until you have completed the game.
All of your characters gain XP in every battle and you can have up to 3 people in one combat but your character can't be changed out which I find annoying since he ends up being at a much higher level of everyone else. Though, your other characters bring an array of different abilities that nicely complement your own but eventually, he becomes a one-man wrecking crew that only needs support which can be easily provided by the other two.
All and all though, Brave Story: A New Traveler is actually a really good and solid game and is a nice RPG fix for someone that needs one on the go.
