Braid was one of my favorite games to come out this generation. It truly stood out more than any other title in 2008.
Gameplay- Braid is a puzzle/platform game with an innovative touch; You get to control time. At any point you can rewind/fast forward time to solve the puzzles in the game. Each level in Braid has its own unique time control ability. For example: Level 1 has your basic rewind ability. Level 2 sees you using objects that aren't affected by time control. You'll need to use your head to figure out most of the difficult puzzles in Braid.
Graphics- Braid has some very beautiful art and scenery composing the background with oil paintings that make it stand out more than other games.
Sound- Some of the most beautiful music I've ever heard in a game. All of it is instrumental.
Story- Braid's story is all told through text. Its about Tim and his search for the princess. All seems normal until you reach the final level, were an unexpected plot twist takes place, which will blow you away.
Replay Value- The game takes only a couple of hours to complete, but most of the puzzles are difficult to solve without a guide. You will be spending quite some time trying to figure how to get that out of reach puzzle piece.
Once you've finished the game, you can go and search for the 8 missing stars, which once collected, will reveal an alternate ending.
Conclusion- Braid is an amazing that shouldn't be overlooked because of it's price tag. It's well worth every cent. If you haven't played Braid, don't wait any longer, play the game now. It's that good.
