Braid is a beautiful game with a truly unforgettable ending,But the high difficulty might be a bit much for some people.
Ingenious, that's the one word that comes to my head when i think of this game. From the storytelling to the brainracking puzzles that seem impossible at first but with a little observation have the most simple solution. The controls are tight and won't get in the way at all. Its the high level of difficulty later in the game that might turn some people off. If your easily frustrated then braid most likely will be quite the trip. But a calm mind and a little bit of 4d thinking goes a long way here.
Graphics 10/10
Simply beautiful in every way. The backrounds are lush and full of life. Tim looks especially dashing in his suit and tie. Enemy sprites look great too, though i would have loved to see a few more of them.
Sound 10/10
The game also features a sweeping music score. Not once did the music annoy me, and thats a mean feet with some puzzles taking up to 2 hours to complete on your own ( or at least for me ;).
Value 9/10
At 1200 points ($15) it's a great deal though your gonna have to get all puzzle piece's to see the ending and epilougue. All in all a great buy, and one of the more memorable games on the live arcade, and this generation for that matter.
The good
So beautiful,Music is very soothing ( and thats a good thing.. trust me),A story that seems predictable but throws a HUGE twist at the end, Worth playing even if ( like me) puzzle games aren't your thing.
The bad
Can cause damage to controller, tv and wall (luckily i don't have anger issues so my house is safe from this).
