Very fun game. Hilarious scenes. A good amount of playing time... and an endless amount of guns. It's kind of like WoW..

I had more fun playing Borderlands than any other game I have ever played, by far. I'm not sure how fun it is by yourself, but I always played with 1-3 friends online.

If you played World of Warcraft, you will be familiar with how items work (in general). When you kill an enemy, usually drops money, ammo, and an item (sometimes more than one). Items are categorize by color to show how rare it is. The order goes: White, green, blue purple, orange, and pearlescent. Sound familiar?

Anyways, Borderlands can keep you occupied for a long time. You start out as level 1 and progress up to 50 (unless you get the addon pack, then it's 61). By the time you beat the game, you should be in your 30's. Then you play the game again! Except this time, everything is a much higher level.

It may sound repetitive to play the game twice with one character, but for some reason it is still fun to go back and play through those funny, intense, and difficult missions.

The talent trees were well made too, but a little short. As you level, you get talent points. You can spend these talent points in the talent tree to get talents (sound familiar?). The talents are all passive talents, but make a huge difference. Some of the talents give you buffs too. There are 3 trees for each class in the game, but I think I'm used to WoW too much. I felt the trees were a little short, but I think that's because I am used to specializing in one tree, like on WoW. In Borderlands, I think, you can reach the bottom of two trees on one character, which is still cool.

The makers of Borderlands have a great sense of humor. Every other mission my friends and I found ourselves laughing nonstop for a couple minutes.

The addon packs are pretty fun, and funny. Except Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot. I don't recommend it. You just fight waves of enemies nonstop for 20 rounds, and each round has 5 waves. So that's 100 waves. It gets VERY boring after the first "round" and becomes a chore to beat all 20. I tried it with my friend and it took us a good 2 hours to beat one of the stages (there's 3 levels) AND we had modded guns (don't flame me :P)

The other addon packs are great though. Dr. Ned's Zombie Island was so funny. Especially when you get that 1 Gamerscore achievement (on Xbox). General Knoxx's Secret Armory provides an almost endless replay value. Playing through the missions is fun, and at the end there is a "secret boss." This boss drops 99 items when you kill him. It is a very hard boss to kill unless you have killed him before. He drops the rarest and best items in the game. It's always fun trying to get better weapons by killing him.

Overall, this is by far one of the best games I have ever played. The developers made a great game. I love how the game isn't a very serious game like Modern Warfare 2. The developers really know how to get people to have fun. Sure Modern Warfare 2 was good, but it wasn't "Borderlands fun." Borderlands was fun because it's all about loot and laughing.

I would highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys first person shooters, getting loot, and major roflz IRL.
