I have to admit when I first got this game I was a bit weirded out by the stranged graphics and lame story involving an alien vault. However now having played and completed my first playthrough of the game, as a soldier, I have to say I regret not playing it sooner. The gameplay comes off feeling some what like Bioshock meets Fallout 3 with some Diablo inspirations thrown in for good measure. With a generous number of missions and enemies included. The game will last a GOOD while, if you don't speed through it, especially if you take the time to complete every side-mission and seek out the best weaponry. The enemy AI is fairly good, although most of the time you'll find your enemy just barreling towards you, making shotguns the ideal weapons. The enemies are also some what varied in that you have: humans, aliens, bugs, dogs like creatures, and acouple others in between. As for the meat of the any game, the story, that is where this game falls flat. You spend all your time on Pandora trying to find a legendary vault that everyone assumes is filled with treasures and money only to find its got something completely different in it. The characters are forgetful at best. Even your selected character has about as much personality as a scag. None really stand out other then Tannis, who will haunt the entire game with her weird crazy pycho bable. The graphics are good, you may find you'll need some time to get used to the highly over sharpened graphics but it will pass. Overall if first person shooters are your thing then this game is perfect for you, especially if you fell in love with either Bioshock or Fallout. Take the time to complete the missions, and find the best comination of weapons that work for you and your 1st play through will soon become your second.
