Borderlands by far should not be on the border of your to buy list, it should be near first.

Borderlands could quite possibly be one of the top 10 greatest co-op games ever made. Everything about Borderlands was made so you and your friends could enjoy killing things together. Borderlands is insanely satisfying with friends and allows for a much fuller expierence that everyone can enjoy. The problem with this being so great in co-op is that it is VERY slow paced by yourself, the game some what drags on when it is only you playing. The gameplay is the same is basically every first person shooter in existence so there should be no problem with the controls. The vast array of guns is mind-blowing, it is hard to find, if not almost impossible, to find the same exact gun twice. Each class you can play as each have their own playing styles and allow you to configure them (via there RPG based character ability tree) towards what you want. Borderlands's story is basically non-existenced and has an ending that you just have to see for yourself (planned on no-spoilers and am going to keep it that way). Plus the game has a Playthrough 2 (along with a playthrough 2.5 or 2+) feature which allows you to start the story over, but carry over everything from your first (or second) playthrough and the enemies level back up to your levels. All and all if you want a game that both you and your friends can play and have fun doing it then nothing can top Borderlands.
