solidworks is CAD software, it is expensive, difficult to use and makes modelingvery long. sketchup is much better for general audience and is more suited to models that don't need precise modeling (like here when modeling from pictures)
Seeing a 3D printer in action is amazing - the things you can print out and having instantly moving and fully working devices is incredible.
It would be great to see the finished model if you have it.
Really neat and great work to admire but GameSpot better changes the description..as if everybody easily could make one...lol
