Borderlands 2 User Review

Borderlands 2 contains as much fill as it does thrill, receding before it ever reaches a climax.

Difficulty:
Easy
Time Spent:
40 to 100 Hours
The Bottom Line:
"Disappointing"
Borderlands 2 is a first person shooter with a sense of style, set in the world of Pandora, where you resume the role of a vault hunter. Your objective is to neutralize a dominant threat exploiting natural resources to harness a power capable of world domination. You interact with cultural phenomenon expanding your journey across different locations, accompanied by your mechanical robot Clap Trap. Though taking a plunge further into details reveal numerous blemishes conclusive of an inevitable Gearbox software strikeout.

Your journey never atones loose ends, giving no freedom to explore in attempts to build a character. Meaningless end game content ( If you even reach that far ) sadly regurgitates all replay value. Handsome Jack and his accomplices lack purpose, attempting to convey a threat almost simultaneously ringing hollow. The potential to acquire limitless loot, entices you to hunt down legendary weaponry but only for a brief stint before sparks are diminished by unintelligent A.I. Yet what should typically be engrossing is materially uninvolved, feeling more like a comedy show than that of a video game. A single playthrough looses depth and momentum far before completion, adding to the rubble trying to pay homage to It's original. All world locations also become increasingly desolate and uninviting after multiple hours of traversing. The unbalanced classes and level functionality detracts from any experience that should have been immersing you.

Without depth, Borderlands 2 fails to capitalize, leaving it broken and unfixed. Indeed there is a fair amount of content presented but nothing should be praised. Anyone new to first person shooters should stay away at least until a bargain bin seat is revealed for Gearbox's new entry. If your a Borderlands veteran or just have a guilty pleasure for tasteless game, then I still suggest you proceed with caution, leaving your expectations at the door with the over rated world of Pandora to explore.

Yes, Skagzilla can be defeated without dying. Lilith used an incendiary SMG, and finished with a shotgun. Proof of one play is placing the bait.
