- The Bottom Line:
- "Great multiplayer"
After completing Borderlands 2, I can say that it was a very good game. However, I enjoyed the first one better. Borderlands 2 features outstanding multiplayer, solid gunplay, and good mission variety. It's considerably more challenging than the first, which certainly adds to the game and is a worthy improvement. The story is held together quite well which is also an improvement over the first, where the story somewhat dissolved halfway through. A great improvement that this game makes over the first is the importance of the elemental weapon. They've become more important than ever, and that's a good thing
The reasons why I liked the first one better goes as follows. In my opinion, exploring Pandora the first time around was more fun. I preferred the desolate desert setting as opposed to the desolate tundra setting. In this game, I feel like I'm going from area to area to fulfill missions. However, I never felt like I became acquainted with the areas I would frequent. I was more immersed by the first game than I was with this game. Also, I felt like the enemies (including bosses) were more memorable the first time around. There are new additions to the bestiary, such as loaders and nomads, but they don't prove very interesting.
This game is very good, don't get me wrong. It just didn't capture my heart the way the first one did. I still recommend it though for sure. It's much better than almost every other first person shooters on the market.

This shooter has humor, style and RPG, but lacks good shooting.

Borderlands 2 contains as much fill as it does thrill, receding before it ever reaches a climax.

Yes, Skagzilla can be defeated without dying. Lilith used an incendiary SMG, and finished with a shotgun. Proof of one play is placing the bait.Posted Dec 28, 2010
