From: darkayanami | #060That is very strange. I set Dota 2 to not update because I don't play it and it would update every day. It stopped updating.
Well I know for a fact that Skyrim was updating even when set to not update. It's probably a case of some games gets to be upgraded regardless, while others don't.

I'm inclined to believe this to be the case - I've long since uninstalled Dota 2 and Team Fortress 2, but it seemed like both wanted to ignore my "Don't Update" setting.

I've read in many places that turning off auto updates doesn't always work on some games. It's never been an issue for me, but I've heard it happens to people often.

I think both are the case. The Bee seriously needed a nerf.
I would have been happy if they just, I dunno, halved the damage, or even lowered it to a third. Making the recharge delay so high makes this nearly unusable unless you use someone else to take all the shots for you.
Thing is, all shields are nearly unusable now. They just suck compared to what you face up against.
You have never had a good neo or a 90% sham i take it. Both of them were much better to use even before the bee nerf.

The Sham is useless against the bonus bosses, though, and the Neogenator is alright against them, but, again, not very useful due to how hard they hit.

Personaly ive never used the bee as a crutch, so i can appreciate both sides of the argument. What I was primarily addressing was the people in the thread (hence the opener) telling others how to play. Personally, I agree that the bee is broken as hell as i've stated hundreds of times after soloing hyperius (an otherwise, extremely formidable boss). And again, this was never really about the bee, just used it as an example.. what irked me was other people telling others how to play.. telling others what is morally correct and incorrect in terms of right and wrong.. but if i could solve this problem of morality then i would be able to do what no other man has ever done.. my message was more of a "come on.. just let people play and crutch themselves however they like". That's it, really.
I don't want to seem like I'm directly telling others how to play, but merely noting what I've seen with regards with the Bee. I don't even mind if people use the unnerfed Bee as long as they aren't harming others. However, it was noted that it would be eventually patched so most who are surprised shouldn't really be so...or at least as much.
In terms of morals, there's nothing wrong with having an easier way to do things; assuming many, many (RL or not, good or bad, flawed or perfect, etc.) factors. However, if said easier way was an unintended feature that eventually gets fixed, then one has limited options.
