I think I'd recommend the Evolution, Neogenator or the Sham. Then stuff like Hide of Terra or Love Thumper for more niche builds.

Prior to having the bee I had a white absorb ammo shield lol, will take a look at those shields, would like a high capacity one really that doesn't sacrifice health.
Someone mentioned the bunker drops the sham. Is this true?

Yes that is true Best absorb chance possible is 94%, but honestly anything around 80% or above will be great. It also recharges pretty fast.
